Commuter Play

Anyone notice that right after regular 9 to 5ers get out of work during the week, the play just begins to get horrible? It seems that everyone who is at the table at the time is in the pot at least 35% of the time and extremely aggressive. I mean, im not complaining, i have been sucked out on a ton by these donks, but i have won way more from them by changing my play to a lot tighter. Anyone else see this trend?

Its to the point that i almost specifically choose to play during this time just based on the fact that someone who is working all day and just likes a little poker isnt really working with too great of a strategy. These are the pots that are awesome to take down because they see people bluffing giant pots on TV, they think they can too. Easy money.

I sleep during most of the day or play videogames till about 4-5 pm and the floodgates open, then ill grind the fishy tables as much as possible till late.

I've noticed this... it can be a profitable time of day, but you gotta be prepared for terrible terrible suckouts.

I like to play early in the morning... get a lot of europeans and many are quite aggressive. Play a sng at 5:00am EST and play quality hands only (careful of the bluffing, cuz they don't fold anything easily). For the most part, they'll take each other out to whittle the field down and then you can play your "tight"/"passive" appearance for at least an ITM, but many times a win.

Thats one huge drawback, but if you pick your fights you almost always end up ahead at the end of the week.

I dont understand how being ahead and getting drawn out on, is a drawback.

You want this, if they are drawing most of the time you are a big favorite and they hit its unlucky. But... you want to get involved in as many spots like these as possible. I mean, constantly having the nuts on the river is nice and all but its so hard to make a hand like that often.

Well yeah, all im saying is it can get you down. Watching yourself get sucked out on can take the wind out of a lot of peoples sails and ruin their play.
