Collusion, Stupidity or Something Else?

It sounds like coincidence to me.I can't think why the guy would give his stack up for no reason.Probably saw the guy was disconnected and pushed to try to take his chips and it didnt work out.IMO

I think that the suggestion here is that he has 2 accounts, and was switching between them and then when they both ended up on one table, he used them to double up.

If that was the case, I would have thought he would have had 2 computers running and there would have been no need to disconnect. Does Full tilt track to see if 2 accounts are running from the same IP address? That wouldn't make sense though as I could see cases where more than one person would legitimately be playing from 1 IP address (husband and wife playing at the same time).

I am sure that the poker sites have this covered as it seems like something that could really be exploited, how do I know this isn't happening at tables I am at?

If he had 2 nice stacks,he would be an idiot to give one of them up (IMO)to try to advance the other one.I think you try to win with each stack.

I think it was coincidence. The odds of these guys knowing they would disconnect and being at the same table on a freeroll are astronomical. Disconnections are too common, I have high speed and I get disconnected too thought I'm not sure why. Chalk it up to another weird Full Tilt thing.

The suggestion that people are colluding in huge freeroll MTT's seems pretty obsurd to me. I mean first of all 2 accounts in 1 MTT isn't even going to help you out a majority of the time, and for it to be a freeroll? Why would someone even go through the trouble..

It could have been the same guy. And if he's using dial-up, he may have floating IPs, getting a different IP every time he connects. And I think you have a better chance of winning with one big stack than with two decent stacks. So, I'd report it.

Let's look at this scenario. I think it's 1 guy. And while I agree he/she did not know they'd be at the same table, he took advantage when it happened. And when it's late in a tourney, the odds of meeting at a table are not so astronomical. Often, I will meet up with the same a couple of players up to 3 or 4 times when I get moved around.

+1 However, I doubt he's got dial-up. You can log in one at a time, with 2 accts from the same IP. If he had 2 IPs (like a laptop with a wifi card), there'd be no need to disconnect either. I'd report it - and if it's 1 IP in the same tourney, FT will nab him but good.

I would have interpreted this as 1 guy with 2 accounts trying to be smart. I am not sure he was smart as I think 2 players with decent stacks are abetter than a bigger one.

It was probably someone with multiple computers using some sort of program with a shadow id or the two might have been chatting outside the tourny and one bought out the other! could be alot of things!

it would be unlikely for a guy with 2 accounts to have both at the same table.. he may have run into a buddy at the table, or just got lucky
