coin flip tournament all in question You a relatively a small stack in the middle of a tournament. You are on the button with 2 high suited connected cards. the small blind goes all in every one else folds. you put them on a middle pair. It is up to you... do you call ? what is the guideline for when you risk it all on a coin flip?

Depending... On how good or bad your cards have been up to now. Is this the best hand youve scrapped together in a few rounds? Are you hitting much? Its really a judgement call. How many BB's have you left? can you afford to fold? Is it worth folding?calling? Lots of things to consider but really has to be how you feel at the time. Sometimes you'l fold them, some times different

Personally i like to play the coin toss, especially when you are short stacked in mid game. I think the question is more do you want to try and hang on a litlle longer or double up and get out? You will find that when short stacked they are trying to bully you. Time is valuable.....There is always another game to play where you can do better. Good luck on your decisions. Bearcat

re: coin flip tournament all in question poker it depends on a lot of factors, such as buyin, winning, players, how Im feeling, and how many round I have intill Im down to 20% of other stacks at the table, the size of blind ect.., and do remember even with AA with the great odds but when its a toss you have only a 50% chance of winning.Hit or miss, the other about longrun stats.I prefer to take preflop tosses and play percent at tables more than tourneys, but my mood has the biggest act in this question.

So it depends on the situation, and how he's been playing. I feel most of the time its not worth it, unless I've obsevered he's playing very loose or something. |

Im not sure how you can ONLY put the SB on middle pairs.. why wouldnt he shove with higher pairs? What about AK? I dont feel its a coin flip for you.. its more like 60:40 against. Def more info needed on blinds and chip stacks of other players. IMO you dont want to be calling a shove with 2 high cards.. you want to be the one shoving so that you can gain fold equity. Everytime you shove, people reduce your shoving requirements so if you shove 3 times with near garbage and dont get called AND then get AA preflop, people are more likely to call it with nothing and you get your double up. Its all about luck but fold equity isa powerfull tool. Usually when I get Short stacked in a SNG and the blinds are large, I can get it all back in around 3 shoves, before people have realised what I'm doing (I play fairly tight most of the time).
