Is this cheating?

I found that there are software that help make better decisions, like statistics on other players, advice, etc... One that I found is pokydoky from www.pokydoky.com - has anyone experienced with such sofware? Would that be considered cheating?

I dont think its cheating. Its just some helpes, that the proffesionals already know in thier head. You cant play after it and follow all the advise it gives. You will loose if you do that.

I dont think a software would be able to read a player better than a human being, so i would be skeptical about it's reliability. but it doesn't seem like anything illegal.

I have never used any software like that but I have heard of it. It tracks other players statistics such as how often they raise preflop or how often they defend their blinds, etc.

This technicaly isn't cheating since a human could really do all of the same things, it would just a lot longer. Many players use this as a tool to find out how loose or tight a player is...

I dont think so

Its just a tool, its not always going to be right, and its not going to always be wrong. They can be helpful though for new players to get a idea of what to be looking at.

It's just as much cheating as getting a piece of paper and writing down every single thing that they do and calculate all the stuff on paper. (Which I believe, is not cheating)

I tried a piece of similar software, and it's garbage. While it can calcuate hard odds or whatever, it can't take into account instinct, how others play etc... Plus if you use software, you're never going to learn anything.

Don't waste your time, you need to learn the basic odds and the better hands to play. The winning will take care of itself. Keep it simple and muck A/little!!

Not cheating.

This is simply using information gathering in a quick and more manageably way than doing it by hand. Not any more cheating then having a program that gives you odds for any certain hand. There are other programs out there that do that same thing.

Both player statistic taking helpers and odds helper programs are not perfect. Don't think they will be replacing a human being any time soon. And if they ever do the poker sites will disallow use of them on there site.

Also, it calculates odds for any possible hands. Say you raise pre-flop with JJ and he re-raises you. It's still going to give you good odds because its out of every single hand possible including the crap hands like 2/7 2/3 etc.

This Post is SPAM

I've seen almost (if not) the exact text posted in rec.gambling.poker forum.

This is a blatant advertisement for the pokey product in the form of a question from an innocent Newbie girl...

Here are the responses from that group:

1) No this is SPAMMING!

2) And you quoted it for him. How very considerate of you.

3) Please try harder.

I guess a few of us at this site fell for it.

I would like to know has anyone used this software?

Does calcuate hard odds=calculate hand odds? Because if it does, you should really be more careful before calling others out about their spelling errors with nothing positive to add to a discussion. See what a doucebag I seem like for cluttering this thread with nothing useful to add to it.

No, I don't see this as cheating. I also can't see how this software can help either.

I see this as cheating in my eyes. Could you use some type of hand held statistical package in a Las Vegas casino? No, of course you cant. The only tools available should be your memory.

Maybe not, however this software has got no control whatsoever over the Random Number Generator used by Online Poker Rooms. In addition I don't believe it can discover a pattern of play. So I don't think it is of any benefit either. Just my opinion of course.
