Chat on tables

I forgot to put this in my intro, but some of you may have played with me on FTP so I thought I would share my chat strategies. I have three: Silent, in which I don't chat. Jackass in which I will try and tilt you by being one (I'm only this one if something rude or incorrect is said to me first) And Nice, in which I am nice, lol, this is usually for people I know or if good plays are made. All three have there advantages for me, and I'm posting this so you don't take any one of them personally because it is just a game.

Well, online I chat a lot whenever there's people that are willing to chat.

The one aspect of live play I prefer over online is because I can interact with people and talk to them about anything that comes up for discussion. I love talking with people and getting to know exactly what type of person they are. Whether they're nice, an ass*hole, rich, poor, college student, long time poker player, recently picked up the game, ect, I use everything and anything that'll help me analyze what type of player they are and I use anything I can to my advantage at the table.

Don't get me wrong, I love talking to people and getting to know them to, I'm just a very social person on the poker tables, but I'm not just doing this for entertainment. I do it with a purpose, the entertainment is just a bonus.

ha...for me its the other way round...i do it for entertainment...if i get some insight into them...its a bonus

IM a sucker for chating but usually someone will say something to get me mad and then I can't stop myself from being an idiot at the table. Which usually leads to my death. I try not to talk but just read but sometimes my fingers have a mind of their own. Especially when using the mouse

I rarely ever chat for 2 reasons, 1 because it takes away from my concentration and 2 because it gives away information if I start talking about the game. I want to be a mistery at the table so players dont know if I am a donkey or a skilled player. The guy who started this does bring a good point as far as talking smack to the cocky players and making them go on tilt so they can give you their chips , I may try that .
