Charity Poker Tournament for the Children's Tumor Foundation

Thanks to Nick for allowing to post the details of our tournament!

My nephews Braeden (age 4) and Bronson (age 2) both have neurofibromatosis (NF) type 1, and as a result have bilateral optic glioma brain tumors. In addition, Braeden has congenital pseudoarthrosis of his left tibia (leg bowing) due to his NF. Braeden has successfully completed 60 weeks of chemotherapy treatments and one day his tibia will likely be replaced with a steel rod. Bronson began chemotherapy treatment on February 27.

We are having a tournament at Full Tilt (and running in a 10k race) to raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. You can read more about it here:

Active.com Donations

(You can also make direct donations at that link, every little bit helps!)

Here are the details of the tournament:

Tournament #44269053 20:00(8 PM)ET

Name/Title: Children's Tumor Foundation
Password: charity
Date: April 23
Time: 20:00(8 PM)ET
Buyin: $5 + $5, The fee goes to the charity, the buy in to the prize pool.
Game: NL Holdem

We just had a gentleman donate 18 autographed copies of his new poker book and another gentleman donate a few copies of Rounders DVDs.

We are also going to have some Full Tilt pros playing in this one. I will announce their names as they sign up.

We would love to have you play with us! Please sign up as early as possible so that we can see how many will be participating! The more that sign up, the better the prizes will be!

Don't forget to tell a friend or 5!

If you have any questions about NF or CTF or about the game, post away.

Thanks for your help!

I wanted to show everyone some photos of my gorgeous nephews. They are the happiest kids ever and bring so much joy to our family. They will have you laughing your ass off within minutes of meeting them. They're constantly laughing and it's very contagious.

They know very little about the "bumps" on there head, as they call them. Except for their tumors they have EVERYTHING going for them including a very loving family.

Here's the youngest one, Bronson (age 2).

And here's Braeden (age 4) with University of Michigan's Football Coach Rodriguez. (The hospital they go for chemo and other treatment is right on the campus of U of M.)

This is a photo of Braeden at swimming lessons. The "bump" you see in his chest is a port that they surgically inserted so that they could give him his chemo shots easier.

He calls it his "button" and absolutely loves it and loves to show it off. After 60 weeks of chemotherapy, he just recently got it taken out and was very sad about it. The same week, his brother Bronson got his port inserted. He doesn't like his so much right now, but he is awfully young to have it.

These things aren't easy in life especially when young children are involved.

Thoughts and prayers for your nephews. Handsome little bunch aren't they I have registered. I hope to see many more CC'ers in this event as it is for a good cause.

I promised I would update you when a pro signed up. Well...

Phil Gordon just signed up to play with us.

Andy Bloch has also committed.

Would you like to have a chance at taking out Phil Gordon for $10? That same $10 goes to help the Children's Tumor Foundation. It might be the best $10 you've ever spent!

Get signed up now!

It'd be cool to do more of these fundraisers, and this is a good one.

For me the date/time doesn't work, but g/l to those participating.

What cute little guys! God bless them. I hope to make this tournament (a little early for me to commit). Please keep us updated!

They both look so happy and healthy, despite what they're going through! They must be tough little dudes!

Please keep bumping this thread as it gets closer to the date. I will play if I don't have any other commitments by then. I will try to keep my calender cleared for it. But some of us may need reminders a few days before it takes place. Your family is in my prayers.

I ran a thread about my parents a couple of days ago and got some very encouraging replies. I would like to say that I love all of God's children, and having a near death experience, am drawn so much more to the kids going through ANY sort of problems. I will definately be there for this(even if I gotta borrow the money to get into it). Best wishes for the success of this tournamnet, the charity, and some REAL BIG hugs for the boys!!!!

Thank you all so much for your replies, thoughts and prayers.

I mentioned that we got Phil Gordon and Andy Bloch to play.

Well, Phil Gordon, Lynette Chan, Karina Jett and Chris Klecz are already registered to play!

Andy Bloch and Paul Wolfe haven't registered to play yet, but they have agreed to if they are around that day.

So, 4 pros already! I'm very happy about that, but I'm still going to be contacting more!

There are only 900 spots and so far we already have 22 players registered and that is 19 days before the tournament! As you can see, this one is probably going fill up fast - so get in now!

$10 to play with 4+ pros AND raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation!!! You can't beat that!

This is quickly becoming the most talked about tournament on the Net!

I just wanted to let you guys know that all of the pros are now bounties!

You will receive an autographed copy of Mitchell Cogerts brand new book "Play Razz Poker to Win" for taking out a pro! (Limit one book per player.)

All you have to do is PM me your name, address and hand history at my forum or at this forum or email me at chane [at] theroundersroom.com.

The top 10-15 finishers will also get Phil Gordon's DVD (if we can get a hold of him again), Rounders movie DVD or Tony Korfmans autographed book, " HoldemPoker, Tournaments, cash games and embarrassing social gas". (All prizes are subject to availability.)

We got 5 days left to go. Our goal is 900 players - we currently have 177 players. We're on our way to 900, but you can help us out by telling a friend!

This could end up being the best $10 tournament you've ever played in! You do NOT want to miss this one!

It's looking like it will be a great tournament.

All the extra prizes being added are a nice little bonus, but it will be great that it will raise the money for the Children's Tumor Foundation.

Absolutely! 2 days til game time! 226 players already registered! I'm starting to get really excited! I really don't know what to expect. I didn't even know if we'd get over 100 to be honest. But, I hope we can fill it and get 900! That's be amazing!

This does sound like a good tournament - I'm planning to play it, even if it means staying up late on a work night

Besides, I did pretty well in the last charity tourney I entered, the Jen Harman one!

That it's for a good cause makes it all the more important to play.

It will be nice to say you knocked out a poker pro. Phil Gordon is a really nice guy so I'm not surprised he's taking part in this tournament.

I'm looking forward to this, however the poker gods are being really miserable to me right now. I believe there is about 246 registered, and I love the fact that there are bounties on the pro's.

If I remember correctly Mrs AG, your husband did rather well in that Jenn Harman charity event, I also was in it. They didn't let us play with the pro's, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case this time.

Let's get some more CC'ers in this, its for an excellent cause and for a fellow member
