Is this CC's aliengenius?? Poker Tournament Series with the Grand Prize going to 37-year-old Daniel Zammarelli of Sacramento, Calif. Zammarelli will receive a $5,000 Vegas VIP package including a trip for two to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations for 3 nights, $1,000 buy-in into a land based tournament, Bodog gear, VIP service at a club for him and and a guest, and an invite to a Bodog party. Check this out for an idea of what to expect at a Bodog party. The series was the culmination of one poker tournament per month for six months with the top 30% from each tournament earning points towards the final tourney. The final consisted of a field of 50 and ended with heads-up play between "aliengenius" with $80K in chips and Zammarelli (aka "DanZ1969") with $33K. The turning point in the heads-up poker action came when "aliengenius" raised it to $3,200 preflop with 9/J off-suit. "DanZ1969" called with 10/K from the big blind. The flop came 8/9/10 and "DanZ1969" pushed all-in and "aliengenius" called. The turn produced a K and the River a 4, leaving "aliengenius" straightless and giving "DanZ1969" the pot with two pair. Five hands later "DanZ1969" raised it to $2,400 preflop with J/8 and "aliengenius" went all-in from the big blind with 7/K suited. "DanZ1969" called and the flop came 10/Q/9 giving "DanZ1969" a straight. A 5 and a 7 on the turn and river did nothing to change things and "DanZ1969" won the Bodog Vegas VIP Tournament Series.

re: Is this CC's aliengenius?? poker That was me. I recall there being another round of betting in the scenario they gave in the "turning point" hand -- I didn't just call off my stack on the draw [+ pair], I was pot committed/getting correct odds after raising his initial lead bet, so called his all in reraise. See how sweet I am a blowing the chip lead HU in big events? It's like my hobby or something... Second place paid $100. Yep: $5,000 trip for first, $100 for second.

AG, Congrats for making it past one heck of a lot of players. Second place is nothing to sneeze at, don't beat yourself up over it! I sure wish Bo would have paid you more, it's only fair after all. Using that $100 to make another $800 sure is nice too! Keep the good work! AB
