Casino differences
It might be me not having a clue, but i have the feeling that different servers apply different rule sets. Playing on Pokerhost.com i noticed that it didnt seem like "kickers" where used to measure the hands. Me and another player had similar hands, so we shared the pot instead of being measured by our respective kicker card. (Which would ave made me loose, btw).
Anyone know about these differences or am i just not getting it?? -caf |

I think u might have missed why the hand was split. ALL poker sites apply kickers to the hand. However, the kickers may be irrelavant if the board is big. FOR EXAMPLE:
ME: A2 YOU: A3 BOARD: A K J 9 8 We would split the pot because we both had the top hand of AAKJ9 However if the hands were different: ME: A10 YOU: A3 I would win because my kicker would come into play : AAKJ10 over your AAKJ9 Clear as mud? The rule is that only the top 5 cards count towards your hand. |

I have been examining it around the net and i have to agree, it was probably a misconception by yours truly. Seems even the most basic of software will factor in the blinds...
It stings being such a beginner. Not even the most basic of knowledge at hand.. -caf ![]() |
