Cash or Tourneys games with a $50 bR??

So I know my cash game isnt where it should be but my tourney game is a little more solid. Dont really know why, but if you had a suggestion help.

anyway, i played cash, and down $10

But Ive managed to cash in 7 outta 11 tourneys. I feel comfortable at the tables when im in a tourney. Down like $2 because my cashes were in lower buy ins.

I kinda lose my comfortablity when im in a cash game, and i dont really know why.

So if you were in my shoes, would you stick to tourneys or go and play cash games in hopes of fixing my game.

I know what i like, i was just reaching for ideas from people that may have been in my shoes before.

well generally i think it's usually recomended to play low buy-ins sngs worked for me aswell beside when i play out of my bankroll

If you're better in the SnG's I say play those and stay away from cash games if you're losing in them. At least until you build your roll up a bit.

Anyways, I would play $2 sngs with a $50 Roll. They are very easy, especially the Turbo ones.

SnG's are easier to beat IMO. Play a solid push/fold strategy at the end, and its pretty easy to consistently make the $.

Play whatever you feel comfortable playing. All games are easily beatable at those stakes, so if you feel like you're better at tournaments play those.

I agree, the micro SnGs are extremely soft, and would be less risky than cash games.

I just cashed in 70% of my last 10 $3 ones, and won 3 of them, so it's a good way to build the bank roll.

sngs are the way to go with small rolls imo.

If you are more comfortable in tournies, then that is probably the way to go. You can blow that size bankroll rather quickly, espicially if the site you are playing at doesnt offer micro stakes. I'd stick to the tournies and try to build up your BR, tho I have found at low stake limit games you can find a lot of fish and make profits with less risk than the NL tables... just something to think about if you want to go with the cash games.

Just a quick note. How long did it take you to lose your $10 in the cash games?

pretty quick, i played best hand aggresively post flop and then got hit with either runner runner or the river which cost me money....its why i hate the micro limit games because the donkeys are LUCKY

So u were playing with 20% of your bankroll at one table?

My rule is no more that 5% of your bankroll at risk at a time. So in your case the $2 sngs would be my choice

If you are better at SNGs, then play them. If you are better at ring, play them.

The key is to stay within what your BR can support so that you don't bust.

As long as you're playing within your bankroll, play whichever you enjoy the most.

At the micro stakes you aren't going to make a lot of money in either one so go for the entertainment value.

I would stick to the tourneys for now. At least until u build uo ur BR a lil bit then try a cash game and see how it goes. But if u feal more comfortable with the tourneys then stick with that.

I prefer playing in the Sit n Goes personally, you can move up the buy ins as you win, and if you lose with an all in you only lose a set amount. Cash games put more of your bankroll at risk, and one bad beat can set you back allot.

Play what u are profiting at. Follow stringent bankroll management rules. .70 win rate is outstanding..why jack with it?

$2 SnGs. Your bankroll really isn't large enough for cash games, lest you can find a .01/.02 game. 5% is your magic bankroll number.

10% if you're really messing people's lives up.

i think the 2$ SnG on fulltilt are the place u wanna be. 9$ for first and the rake is the same for the 1$ SnGs but $1.25=4.5=3.25 for 1st where as $2.25=9=6.75. if ure a trny player try the .10c trny (1K Rby) and or the $1 trnys and $1 rebuy trnys. they are all topheavy gl.

play whatever your good at and feel more comfortable doing. for me its cash games. ive never really had the patience for tourneys and seem to lose interest after awhile, but with cash games i can play until i get bored and than leave that table and do something else, where as in a tournament i would be stuck until i get knocked out.

I feel I sometimes don't have the patience for a huge tournament. Torneys are about outlasting people... so patience is mandatory.

i am the exact same way im not to comfortable playing cash games i do still playem but it seems like i win more in sngs or mtts i guess becuz its the fact of knowing ok when u go to a cash game ur starting off with $5-$10 as where if you buy into a $2-$3 sng ur starting off with usually 1500 chips so u got more to call with idk thats why i think im more comfortable at sngs and mtts

I agree with the plenty of micro Sng's arguments. I built my bankroll, from playing tourneys at $17 to $70 playing freerolls and $1 SnG's. I initially played $2 but found myself thinking that this was too much for my bankroll, so I switched to $1, which are fairly easy and no problem to lose to some beats. When I get to $100 I'll have the same feeling with the $2. Trying to be as good as I can be with my management

Just play smaller sit and go's for now...DO NOT play cash games with your entire bankroll and i wouldn't even suggest playing with part of it..you can get in over your head very very quickly and lose it all.
