Can you spot pockets?

i recently lost a quite large hand (by my standards), it was due to being out done by pocket aces.

it went down like this. (25c-50c, NL)
My hand, [Qs, 10s] me in small blind.
villian raises to 1.50
1 caller, then i call.
flop comes [2c,7s,10h]
i bet pot of $5
villain calls
other guy folds.
turn comes 4♦
i bet ~pot $15
villain re-raises me all in (~$13 more)
i call.
he turns AA
river is a blank.

his general play to previous hands had been passive/at times aggresive.

by the time i was re-raised all in i didn't feel as if folding was even an option due to being so pot committed, and was quite comfortable to call. But should i have picked up on anything in this situation?

You should have folded preflop. Problem solved.

Stop overplaying 1 pair hands

Don't play 50NL. Move down. I can tell you misplayed every street and I'm not even a big fan of cash games.

QTs is a pretty hand but turns kinda ugly when met with opposition preflop, trust me on this, I have a post somewhere here which deals with QTs and the same answers.
Folding preflop is the best course of action.

Even though you probably should not be playing Q10 suited in SB when raised to 1.5, here is some advice for next way to handle it if you get caught in similar situation. Check the 4 on the turn and see if he bets, he might push putting you on top pair then it will be an easy fold for you as he could have A10 or any over pair (except JJ because he probably would have raised higher pre flop). you should have pushed if you felt he had nothing because as you said yourself you priced yourself in to call no matter what his hand is because of your bet of 15. Slowing down a bit when someone calls a pot size bet on flop and you only have top pair with a beatable kicker is a smarter way to play in this situation. Play less on the basis of your own cards and more on the basis of your opposition's cards.

Yea fold pre. If you are gonna play from SB, dont call with a hand like this. If you are gonna play from the SB raise - if first in - or 3 bet. If your hand is not worth raising or 3 betting, easy fold. (In this case, easy fold).
You may want to call with a monster but with 1 raiser and 1 caller, you 3 bet or fold here IF you are gonna play at all IMO. And this hand, unless you have solid reads to tell you otherwise, instafold.

Each hand I play I play for a desired flop. When I do play Q,10 suited I do not play it to hit the 10 or the Q. If you are calling a raise with Q,10 suited you are most likely behind if the Q or the 10 hits. I play Q,10 suited to either catch a straight or a flush draw. Just like if I play 67 suited. I do not bet just because a 6 or 7 hit, in fact that is the last thing I wanted was a 6 or a 7 to hit. The 67 suited was played to catch a flop of 3,4,5.
Ask your self why you are calling with the cards you hold. Then do not get excited when you catch a pair.

I mostly stick to MTT's and SNG, mostly full tables

ok now lets say i raise 3x blind with AQ suited under the gun and a player shoves for 1/2 my stack?

Is it still correct to fold here preflop if one is in the BB instead of SB? Or is it a harder preflop decision now?

Any thoughts on AQ suited under the gun?

When a generally passive player opens, his range is well ahead of QTs, and given that you'll be out of position, folding is the straightforward play. Since you chose to call, what did you think his range was at that time? When you flopped top pair and donked pot on the flop, how much of his range were you ahead of vs behind?

When he called, how did that further define his range? What were you beating then vs behind? It seems pretty optimistic to think you were ahead, which means that when you bet the turn, which looks very much like a blank, you were probably bluffing with probably 5 outs. And on such a dry board, what hands were you trying to get him to fold?

And why bet pot, pot to put yourself in a position where you'd feel pot-committed?

Aces are of irrelevance here, everything he raises you with here has you beat. top pair yeah but he isn't in general raising a worse kicker than K,Q here anyway.

As people say, fold pre.

Fold a weak hand such as this pre-flop and with action before, you doubled your mistake.

Cash games will clean you out extra quick.There are very good sites which will teach you SNG and tournament tactics.

The Harrington and Moshan books will also improve your play.

Actually you can't. The only thing you can go on is the board and how the villian is betting.
