Can someone play a tournament for you? Today I have a big tourney that I can not get out of. I will be able to play some of it but Im not sure I will have time to finish because I have to go to work. Which is more important. Should I just play agressive and try to knock out as many as possible...?What should i do? Is it legal to have someone play a tournament for you on your account? I dont know what i should do....taking all advice

If you get caught the site will most likely suspend your account...Play aggressive and hope to make enough to last I think might be your best option. Depending on the importance of the tourney would make the difference on whether you would get caught though. GL with your decision either way..

Unwise. Your account may very well be closed if you do that and the poker site ever finds out about it. |

We have a few members who have their spouses sit in for them from time to time. Tammy, Freak & AG to name a few, of course all these spouses are better players than the members so this tends to work out for them. In, for instance a CC game it is considered good form to let the other players know that you your ownself are not playing.

This is considered cheating by most sites I believe. However, I do believe someone taking over for you that was not originally registered in the tournament is seen in differently than someone taking over for you that already donked out. I'm not 100% sure on this and I wouldn't recommend finding out.

i would let a friend play in it for you as long as its on your comp thats for sure. but i wouldn't worry about it to much at all. But i wouldn't miss work to play a online tornment thats for sure. At least work you are a 100% to come out ahead.

Pretty sure it's legal actually. Check with the site first though. If someone busts and THEN takes over your account it's highly illegal and the source of last year's WCOOP ME winner being stripped of their title. But I think as long as the other player didn't enter that it's ok under their TOC. Just email them and see what they say.

Poker Stars - Poker Tournament Rules Read rule 21. But I don't know which site you're on and I'm too lazy to look on other sites.

re: Can someone play a tournament for you? poker I do believe it is against most poker sites policy. That being said however, if you get someone to play from your computer, how can anyone know. But if they play from somewhere else, you will have 1 tournament played with 2 different IP addresses signing on. The poker site may never find out but if they do you may be banned, and forfeit your bankroll.

But what just comes to my mind - If I won the qualifier for WSOP or similar on our FT-account she would have to go....because she signed on and paid in on that account. |

i would have to say to play agg as well and try to rack up enough to sit out and make the money but also you should think about not playing satalites that you cant make because you are just wasteing your time that you put into the first tourney as for someone playing for you i am not sure but i would think it would be ok be theyarent winning the money so i guess it would be a question of if someone wants to play for that long without getting anything out of it but do not qoute me because I am not sure if it is aloud

re: Can someone play a tournament for you? poker Quote: I think you guys are missing the point here. Yes IP addresses can be tracked so to hand over mid tournament would MAYBE look a bit odd if the site were investigating. However you can play from anywhere. Home, work, holiday home, hotel room, cafe, best buddies machine who also has an account etc etc. It makes no odds where you play from. Its YOUR account. So as I said earlier in this thread.. unless you tell them (via email or via the chat box) then how would they know that it wasnt YOU playing. Its not a question of 'what IP address' or 'whose machine' The question is simply were YOU playing... and of course your answer would be 'yes, of course it was Sir' ... after all how could they ever know? (just remember to use a proxy server if you intend to get an international friend to play for you.. but beond that what relevence are IP addresses?)
