Can someone explain for me please?

I've heard the term several times already here on CC, and would like someone to please send a link or explain to me exactly what IS "fold equity"?

Here's a quick version. Someone will probably do better

If you raise someone then there is a chance that they will fold and give you pot. If you call then you can only win by having the better hand (or becoming the better hand on later streets).

The percentage of time that you win the pot by getting the other guy to fold converted into cash is your fold equity.
