Can I Get Any More Unlucky

I just lost 4 SNGs in a row by flushes.

Last two SNGs I left at #3 - but both were the same hand (almost). I push, get called, lead after flop - but turn and river bring runner runner flush. Both sets of flops were 2 red cards and a spade (in last two SNGs). Turn and River were spades and I lose to two flushes right there.

I lost to another runner runner flush earlier. I don't know if it's just Absolute Poker, but it's getting rediculous. If I go all-in after flop or turn and I'm leading, I just KNOW that I'm going to get beat in river. Another SNG I got beat on river by a guy that was going out. Had TPTK - he had bottom pair. He hit his other pair on river.

If it was just once I'd say okay. But I've lost a ton of $$$ tonight playing SNGs. EACH one I was leading coming out of flop and lost. That's not an exaggeration. I've had misreads and I'm a solid, but not GREAT player. I've def been outplayed before. But tonight - I'm making reads after flop and pushing to get called and sucked out on. I can put people on draws, but they always get their draws.

I've been here a while and I know - I don't believe it's rigged or anything - but I swear - I've had Quad As and 2 str8 flushes tonight. I've NEVER had Quads or a Str8 flush in playing a year in our league in live games. So in one night, I beat the odds of what I get in a year of live hands.

Why do you think casinos give away $$$ for bad beats in their poker rooms? Because they don't happen that often. Online - how many times do you see a FH get beat by Quads? We are lucky in a night to see 3 or 4 FHs and maybe 1 or 2 quads for 20 people playing about 12 hours straight. Online - you can see it in 2 hours. I know more hands - but in a year I haven't had the hands I can get in one night.

Okay - thus my rant.

But here is something I keep seeing. I dismiss it as coincidence, but then it happens again. It happens too often to not bring a twinge of doubt.

If I'm playing two tables, I get the same hands on both tables at the same time a lot. I swear. I got 99 in my ring game and got a FH and scooped the pot. While I was in that hand, I got 99 in my SNG (and lost). Then I got AJ in one, look up and next hand was AJ. It wasn't every hand of course. But it was enough to make me take notice and wonder. It seemed moer than coincidence would dictate.

"can i get any more unlucky?"

The answer is yes. You could have KK in the hole come in for a raise get one caller and see a great flop of AAK. You bet heavy into it and they call and the turn is another K. You get all in only to see your opponent quickly call and turn over AA.

That has actually happened to me before.
And I cant think of a more unfortunate situation to find yourself in.

If a few suckouts is all you have then there is a world worse that could happen.

Oh yeah - I know.

That was just an emotional rant after a really bad night of playing and consecutive suckouts.

I feel better tonight. I recouped my losses from last night and I played in a live tourney w/ our league. Ended placing no. 3 and getting double my buy-in back. I am the only player of about 25 that has been to all of our final tables (5) - we consider final table to be the final 6 in any given tourney. Out of those 5, I've placed 3d three times (then 4 and 5).

What's cool is I was pretty low at one point. We start w/ 1500 chips w/ blinds of 5/10 and they double every 30 minutes. I was down to about 900 at one point and ended up lasting to the end.

Had one interesting hand - don't know if it was a suckout. I had Q10 and the board comes up w/ a J and K. Girl had pck Js and checked flop so I checked. Turn comes an A and gives me str8. I bet out 200 and she reraises, so I put her all-in (she didn't have much). We flip hands and I'm beating her trips w/ my str8. River - pairs the K and gives her full house. Ouch.

I do notice the same hand thing. I'll get a K 10, fold it and the next hand is quess what a K 10. Sometimes its the EXACT same cards.

How about that time you hit your 3 outter against someone, remember that time?

Now the Earth is in balance.

we all have these bad runs and it hurts like hell. At least you were playing SnGs and not a big trny like the one I just busted out. It seems like I always catch a bad beat that ends my run. I just played a $3000 trny with a $7 buy in and played solid but never really got any hands. I was deep thoug and shortstacked so I decided to make my move w/ Q8 and I get called with 68s and he makes his flush . I can handle bad beats at SnGs and even MTTs with about 50 players or so because you spent at the most like 2 hours playing . Its a different story when you are deep playing for big bucks and catch a bad beat and there goes those precious hours and dollars . Sorry I had to rant a bit myself.

Thanks!

As far as the "three outer comment goes" - I was under the impression this was a poker forum.

If I can't rant in a forum such as this - then where? I don't mind the bad beats - just seemed I had 4 of them in a row and just couldn't get away from it. So I ranted.

I didn't stop playing and have righted the ship. But this is my place to rant. My wife certainly doesn't want to hear about it. And if you don't, don't read.

FT, there is a bad beat section of the site for rants.

But my comment was just to put things in perspective for you. Everyone has beats. Sometimes they come in bunches, which suck. Good players bounce back from it.

Good point...thanks for the site adjustment.

I have bounced back...at least for now. My initial load of $75 was down to $29 two days ago. Now it's back to $75.

I had luck playing ring games, then I moved to SnGs and started to lose my money. So I went back to cash games and rebuilt my initial load.

Thanks for the inputs....sorry for being so abrasive.
