| calling for a card and hitting it I have a superstitution where when there's an all in and I am ahead, I would call for a specific card and visualize it on the turn and river. PS lets me do this because that software has a pretty long lag between the flop and the last two streets. There are times when I feel good about the all in and other times when I feel like a bad beat's coming. Sometimes I would just call for a rank, but sometimes a rank and a suit too. (I just called for a harmless 2 of spades on the an all in shove--the guy had 7 outs on the river so I was like thinking two of spades two of spades! and got it.) Pure coincidence, but does anyone do this too? And isn't it funny when the card you call for hits? (And you win) Doesn't seem to work when I am behind though. lol |

$$ That's the only time this calling stuff out has ever helped me, I try to pay as little attention as possible to what hits, which is a lot harder live than online but still good to avoid focussing on the results. |

| Made it to 102 out of about 3000 at that PS FPP freeroll that I called for the card. For my two hours of work, I made 70 cents. Whoopy. LOL Last hand I had 57 suited on BB with about 15000 in chips. Blinds were 3000/6000 and ante was like 200 or something, I dont remember, so I was left with 9000 or so chips. Button raises enough to put me all in. I was getting better than 3:1 so I had to call. K10 vs. 57. About 4:6 underdog which ain't bad. One time I could use a good old fashion suckout but the board came all high cards. It's really hard to finish deep in these crazy tourbo tourneys which become shove fests by the second hour. |

| We all prey for good cards when we go all in. The best poker players in the world prey for good cards when they go all in. The thing is that on the long run if u play better and if u go all in most of the times with the best chances u will win most of the hands. The thing is that u do not have to go all in so many times. At cash tables i go all in only with KK or AA preflop and only when the other player challenge me to an all in. After the flop i almost never go all in if i am not 80% sure that i have the best hand |

| re: calling for a card and hitting it poker I did it one time in one of our home games. I called for a 5 of diamonds for my straight flush. The 5 also gave my friend a boat. Well.....you should have heard him. Too funny, I skinned him for $20 bucks. |

| I need to start doing this and visualize positive cards, it seems like I'm always thinking for example No king and then boom a king comes on river, things like that always seem to happen, so maybe I should think positive cards and watch them come. |

If you were able to predict suck-outs with any degree of accuracy, then why wait until you have gone all-in? If you are considering an all-in take 30 seconds, do your psychic dance and if all feels good THEN go all-in. The type of person who even considers psychic ability as a possibility is also the type of person who fails to see how these powers could actually be used to increase your winrate. My personal view of what you are describing is this: When you go all in you consider the cards that could beat you. When they dont come, you take the pot down and dont give it a second's more thought. When one of these cards come you think OMG I was just thinking about that card, but the truth is you are thinking about the cards that beat you a high percentage of the time but when they dont come, you dont dwell on the fact that you considered the possible cards that could beat you but won anyway. |

| I saw a guy do this live...called off $200 in a $150 pot with an open-ender on the turn (fyi the board was already paired) and called for the ten of diamonds on the river...he hit it and his straight was good. He kept doing this....he'd hit bottom pair and say, "OK, $40 to try to hit a 4," on a board of K 8 4....the turn was a $4 and he leads out for $100. how do you even deal with that? On another hand he called for "one more club," on a board of Kc 7c 2c...an obvious tell as he had AcKs, but he got paid off. But the moral of the story? he gambled $200 into $1,200 and then lost it all by the end of the night. |

| ....i read a "bluff magazine" aritcle from phil lakk..he mentioned something crazy before...basically, he had a hand which he raised and got 2 callers...and he knew he would be beat...basically, he flopped top two pair, with now flush draw and no straghit draw...even then, he knew he was beat.. he bet, got one call and one raise, and instantly folded his top two pair..it was some wierd phrase that maybe someone else know what it is called..but anyway, he folded, and he showed it to another gy..and one guy had flopped a set.. it is possible to predict the future or kinda at least the unknown...he explained it as an out of body experinece or somthing..quite surreal, but it does happen...(ps, comeone reg's, surely you;s have more knowledge of this than me) |
