| Bush Rushes Last Minute Gambling Ban – SSIGI Responds During the last days of a lame duck presidency, administration officials are working furiously to implement regulations to enforce an ambiguous, burdensome and unworkable ban on Internet Gambling. Here is a release from today: Bush Administration Moves to Implement Burdensome and Unworkable Prohibition on Internet Gambling(http://www.safeandsecureig.org/media...egsrelease.pdf) We detail the inappropriate involvement of a NFL lobbyist turned political appointee in pushing the regulations despite the objections of leading financial service companies. Representatives of the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve are even on record saying the regulations are going to be difficult to enforce. | I posted the thing earlier, everyone please call if you live in the United States. "Please call the U.S. Federal Reserve and tell them not to approve the UIGEA regulations -- Consumer Complaints, 888-851-1920 or Public Affairs, 202-452-2955." |

| Yep, it's basically the enforcement of UIGEA that has already been passed. It's open to interpretation and obviously to this point they've interpreted it a bit liberally. We're hoping they continue. A simple call to either number above will make your voice heard. |

| re: Bush Rushes Last Minute Gambling Ban – SSIGI Responds poker Old enough to vote but not mature enough to make sound decisions regarding online poker? Or is it that the fat cats just aren't getting their 'fair share' of the rake? These bans not only affect the players caught in the mess but also their friends not subjected to the ban because now they're no longer able to share tables with people they've become very good friends with through poker forums, poker clubs or just from regular online playing. |
