I like it and think it's a good strategy when it's a satellite and several players will get a seat. Otherwise yes, it's a bit annoying.

In a satellite it's a very good idea when you are 1st - 3rd in chips and you have plenty of chips left.

Even worst are the idiots that bet into dry pots during satellites when the little chip guy is all-in. Check out this HH. Triumph was a complete jerk the hole tournament playing like a JackArs. Oh ya yes you see this HH correct there are 7 left with top 6 winning their seat. This idiot still thought it would be a good idea to bet into the side pot. I decided I wasn't going to get involved and have him hit 2 pair or something and I loose too many chips. The idiot only had 2nd to bottom pair. Is it just me or do far too many players not understand the check down play? Especially in a satellite tournament when after the bubble everyone wins.

bubs

I dont mind usually,It gives a player a chance to take a little break.Plus you cant blame a person for trying to make the money. This is game strategy.Just part of the game.I dont let it bother me a bit.
If I happen to be in the bubble position,I will be courteous and ask the room to be patient, not just run time in silence.,thats rude.

funny u shouls mention that cos recntly i was in a $16,000 gaurantee on ftp and got from 1000 or so people to being in the last 100 with 47,000 chips and in top 6. then the freakieat thing happened to me i had pocket 10s and decided to blind steal with an all in and got an instant call with K J suited and for him to hit on the flop. it put me in a bad position on 1800 chips and from being 6th to 98th out of 99 and needing to finish in top 90 to be in the money. and people just take so long on decisionsuntil they get to that stage before they know there in money and play more freely. i got lucky with A 9 and trippled up and sat back and ended up finishing 83rd earing me a cool $41 from my $24 + $2 buy in. but yeh iys annoying lol

just reading brents comment. very interesting!!
yeah i sympothize with ur comments there its really pointless doing what he did especially as it turns out if he checked it down there would be more chance of one of u guys knocking out mr short stack. but him scaring u off with low pair turned out to backfire on him as u wud all of qualified instanly with you have the tens. idiotic play my friend on his part and a lack of experience on his part too. either that or just doesnt know the true aspects of a good poker player. unfortunately there is a lot of donks out there with no direction!!!

I was small blind in a live tourney, 11 left with final table of 10 (all getting paid) I looked down to see A 10 and it had all folded around to me. I put in a 4x BB raise.. and was called pretty quickly by the big blind.

Well the flop came A 10 10 .... and i checked.. so did he.. I bet the turn and was raised.. I re-raised and before you know it I'm all in.

He had pocket Aces..

O well.. What can you do!

thats very true like you said u cant blame someone for trying to make it in the money i do sometimes get a lil fustrated when the smallest stack ends up winning and staying in the game knowing we r bout to hit the $$$ but then i sit back and think hey that could be me they are just trying to get into the $$$ as well

Annoying? Not any more. It was only annoying when i was an rookie.

Part of the game? Very definitely.

I do it and to complain about others would be stupid.

I've never done that, but now that people are mentioning it, it might be a good move if I'm in a bad spot.
