The bubble
When getting close to the money in any turnamnet play at the tables seems to always tighten up a lot. With a medium to short stack what do you reccommend?

You can go one of two ways.
You can go conservative and wait till you get in the money and then play your normal game again but you can make yourself short stacked waiting for the money and then finish low in the money. You can go aggressive and steal blinds and pots. Most people don't like to do a confrontation for a large amout of their chips close to the money so positional stealing can be even easier. You can go from average stack to above average by being very aggressive with your betting. Short stacked, now is the time to push and hope you can win the one hand to get you back in. Some big stacks may feel obligated to try and take you out and call with marginal hands. Once the bubble has burst, more people will not respect the short stack so much and can call with more hands to try and know you out. The odds of multi player action increases. |
