BRM for live cash games?

wondering whether BRM for live games differs to online and what amount buy ins players would advocate, does anyone on here strictly play live? all comments appreciated

Live is so much softer than online that you can start with a much smaller bankroll IMO. 10 buyins is FINE for a soft live game. The odds of you dropping 10 buyins right off the bat is highly unlikely if you are a winning player. I would keep your winnings separate from life funds once you get rolling to maintain a 20-buyin cushion after that, though.

In theory they're no different.

In practice some live players probably play with shorter bankrolls because it's much easier to top up your bankroll with non-poker funds when you're playing live than when you're playing online. But anyone who thinks you only need 10 buyins because there's no such thing as 10 buyin downswings live is kidding themselves IMO...

many factors come into play. 20 buyins is a good guideline. but just take into account:
are you playing professionaly?
soft game?
Deep stacked buyin?
how good you are
are players aggressive or theres lots of limping preflop

Cash, right? 20 min, 50 to be safe. I think tournaments need to have more buyins b/c variance is going to be much higher.

50 buy in if you're just good, but 40 buy if you're a great. That what I read anyways.
