BRM across multiple sites OK, I'm pretty sure where the momentum is going on this, but... If I've got $ accounts across 3 or 4 poker sites, is my BRM based on my total poker bankroll (eg sum of the accounts at all sites) or should I base my buy-ins on the roll at each particular site? Here's the deal -- I was kicked off FTP because of my lame old computer, but then won a new computer, so I split my BR between PS and FTP. I've since nearly "RUSH'd away" my whole FTP roll, as well as CC'd a small Bodog roll. PS has remained steady. If I can indeed play with my total roll, I may be out of money at FTP soon -- and transferring is gonna cost me money, right? So should I just keep my FTP separate, and Satty DDs, etc., or spread it out again? PART TWO: How about playing live based on an online roll? I've read somewhere that you can play 10X what you would online, so basically a live MTT you can play with 10% of your bankroll? Thoughts?

I'm kinda curious on this subject too. I have always just played live whenever I can, no real bankroll.. if I have to the money to play I do, but if I don't I don't. There are no casinos near me tho, more just poker houses, and few tourneys mostly cash. I'd assume if you had a BR across 2 sites or more, and felt comfortable playing within your BRM with the combined total of both, than why not. I mean it technically is your BR. I only see a problem if maybe you multitable and happened to go busto on the site that had more traffic, but than again I guess it's what you feel comfortable with. I'm curious as to what some others have to say tbh.

Im pretty sure you can play with your entire roll across sites. 2nl doesn't change because you are on a different site. BRM allows you to survive downswings so if you are properly rolled for a level even if the money is in two or three different places it doesn't matter, you're still going to be able to survive a downswing.

re: BRM across multiple sites poker I think you can pool your whole roll as far as BRM goes, provided the costs for transfers are relatively cheap. So you lost most your bankroll on FTP playing rush? Probably should be mentioned that rush poker has huge variance. Hope you take that into account. Minimizing the cost for transfers though is a different matter. In fact thats a dynamic matematical programming problem, that has an optimal solution.

I guess it doesn't matter much as said. I treat each BR individually, though. Sounds weird I know since I'm one of the lucky guys who has means to get site to site transfers done easily. Since I don't spend all the money I withdraw but invest 50% of all withdrawals I could probably look at the invested funds being part of my BR, too - which I don't. But I'm probably just a BR nit .

Also, you can ask someone on the forums to do a roll move for you. I'm pretty sure there will be people willing to do it for you. P.S. If you're not a US resident, you can use moneybookers to move your roll with no fees and relatively fast (1-3 days). PM me if you're unclear about the details. I recently moved from PS to FTP using MB. It took me one day. |

re: BRM across multiple sites poker Hmmm... generally I play within my limits at each site, I hate reloading (never had to do it actually) and would have to do it if I didnt stay within the lines... maybe I should start thinking of it all as one big BR tho...

If you don't want to deposit money online or transfer money between sites, each should be its own bank role! If on the other hand you can deposit money from your live BR or from other sites easily then count everything as one BR. As for the live BRM, is that money you are living off and need to grind your rent/food or is it expendable/saved money? If you need to pay rent from it, 10% is way outside your reasonable BRM, if its expendable money 10% should be fine as long as you are willing to risk that much.

I've always treated each site's account separately (some sites are much more difficult to trade/transfer on... & some don't even have this option at all). Have been looking into a method for moving funds around (Moneybookers?) so that I could consider all as one bankroll. Does seem kinda stupid though to be playin' $20+ freezeouts on one & 2nl on others, lol. (some accounts though I look at as 'fun pass the time' sorta thing).

re: BRM across multiple sites poker I treat them separate. Ya Orifice it is silly. I play 25nl/6.50Stt on FTP and 5nl/1.75 on PS. Most of my attention is on FTP of course but I developed my PS br via FPPs so It's kind of a free time project.
