Book Review: Holdem Wisdom by Daniel Negreanu I have always been a big fan of reading books on my passions. I have decided to give a quick review of the poker books as I complete them. (All reviews and comments are personal opinions of me) I bought and read "Hold'Em Wisdom For All Players, By Daniel Negreanu" yesterday, and I wish I had come across this book 3 years ago when it came out. The subtitle is "50 Powerful Tips To Make You a Winning Player" and Kid Poker does not let you down with the valuable, smart, creative and executable wisdom he shares with the reader in the 166 pages this book encompasses. On top of that, the book is a quick and clean read which is a rare find among the shelves of poker books, some of which make you want to read anything but poker books. This book allows Daniel to open up himself as a loving son, a jovial sportsman and a bad ass poker legend. I am quite positive that Daniel has not let all of his wonderful secrets and play tactics out of the bag, but for the beginner or even up to the semi-pro level, tips on subjects such as bank roll management, small-ball play ideas, 3-betting and folding, this book can surely add some new ideas to improve your game or help you pull out of tilt if that is where you are now. The 1st two chapters entitled "10 Rookie Mistakes" and "5 Reasons why you are losing" are worth the price of the book many times over. All in all this book is one that you should read many times and keep in your poker library for future reference.

tbh I was a bit disappointed by this book. I like the first two sections, as you noted, but other than that I felt it was a little bit basic (as in I could find most of that stuff online). If you liked it im glad to hear it, I was just a bit disappointed.

Just a suggestion for ya... before you go pumping up this Negreanu book, it'd be interesting to hear/know what you're comparing it too? I've probably read over 50 poker books now (all of Daniel's btw) and although I'd say his first two are simply written, easy to follow reads for the beginner, they're far from being anywhere near even the top20 list. imo, it's an ok book for the beginner & probably worth the price (if you're a total poker book enthusiast/addict) but if you've read a bunch of other books already you'll probably be disappointed by it.
