| Big MTT fields are these just a waste of time...i mean....i play these on a regular basis...usually about 3 or 4 $1 - $10 big field MTT's usually its the 5K, 10K, or 20K gaurantees on Pokerstars. i dont have a problem getting ITM...it just seems impossible for me to make it deep like to a final table..its been over 4 months since ive had a $100 or more cash in a big MTT. is it better to stick with SNG's or what? |

| I just had a look at my own notes to get some data. I have reached 15 FTs in MTTs during the first half of this year. Of those, one was in a field of more than 1000. Two more were in a field of more than 500. The other ten were all in tournies with fewer than 500 entrants. This tends to prove what one might expect - the smaller the field, the more often you are likely to succeed. Of course, larger fields generate bigger prize pools. It`s really a matter of personal preference. Are you content to have long periods without success, punctuated by the occasional huge win (and will your BR stand the long downswings), or do you want smaller wins more often ? |

i definately prefer smaller wins more often i guess because i cant stand waiting forever or more than a month without a win. smaller the field, more likely you are to succeed...very helpful. when i deposited i was looking to play all MTT's and make a big cash..but it hasn happened...i went outside of BRM...and now need to deposit again. next i will be looking at SnG's and smaller field tourneys... thanks again for your much appreciated help |

| I would say SNGs would be more consistent without a doubt, so with the mindset of building your bankroll, you should be playing those more often than MTTs. Although I personally think that MTTs are more fun, just because you are playing the same game for much longer and I feel you start getting a much better read on other opponent's playing styles because you will be playing with them for a much longer time. I find myself doing about 15:1 SNGs to MTTs. That way I am pulling the consistent money in from the SNGs, but I am also getting to have more fun in the less consistent MTTs. Also, just wondering what happened to your other two tournies Egon....lol, just playin Quote:

| I play at Bodog and Fulltilt. At Bodog I grind it out... cheap cash games and relatively cheap SnGs. At FT I play just enough cash and cheap SNG's to fund my MTT's. If you compare the two it never fails. I make more money and at a quicker rate by playing the MTTs. Dont get me wrong, there will be months of not finding the final table and it seems like youre just treading water. But then Ill hit that one big score and Im way ahead of grinding it out on Bodog. I like the MTTs but you just have to accept the dry spells. Go look at Bluff's rankings. Even those guys that are killing it are still just In The Money around 17% to 19% of the time. |

No excuses, haven`t even had a drink yet today. Just can`t do simple arithmetic, apparently. Should read, 1, 2, and remainder 12, obv. |
