Big bets on micro tables Why do people feel the need to bet 20X the BB on a pair on micro tables? If betting $2 on a pair of 10s is what they want to do, why don't they go to the $1/$2 tables? I was playing the micro tables on the weekend and I had HORRIBLE cards all day long (hence why I moved to the micro tables!!!). Some guy came in with max to the table and started betting huge. Finally someone called him and he had middle pair 10s) off the flop and a small kicker and was betting $2 on a 5/10 cent table. I watched for a bit longer and then I got a 1/2 decent hand to play him with. With top pair (Ks) after the flop I checked, let him bet big, then I re-raised him and he called. Next was a J on the turn which doubled me up (Ks and Js). Again I checked, he bet big, I re-raised and he called. The river came with a small card and again I checked, he bet and at this time I went all in - I think I only had $1.50 remaining. Amazingly, the guy folded. I still ended up winning over $6 on the hand. I was disappointed I never got to take any more of his money before the rest of our table cleaned him out. This guy obviously had no clue, but I have seen others that bet hugely on hands (20 X BB) that I would only bet 2 or 3 X BB at most, or not even touch (people with 8-9 and the flop is A-Q-8). Do people not realize that you bet according to what the blinds are or do they think they can continually buy the pot and no one will figure them out????

I think it comes down to defending the value of your hand. Most micro limit players are beginners and so they think that everyone is bluffing and that Ax is unfoldable. So people bet 10x or 20x the bb with pp 10s because they need to scare away the Ax players. Or at least try to. Because when you raise 3x the bb, on a 5c/10c table you get 6 callers. When the flop comes 3 6 9 (2 clubs) and you pot bet, you get called by the guy with Ax and the club flush draw. Then the 4 of diamonds comes. You bet again and you get called again. And then the A spikes on the river, even though they had no odds to call you down. Why did they call you down? A) They are stupid or B) IT'S MICRO LIMIT. People don't care about dimes and nickels. Don't be so shortsighted to think that people with thousands of dollars in their account will not plunk down $10 in a micro limit game and just screw around. They do. And they love to do it because they know there are people trying to grind their way up the ladder.

Dont worry about the over bettors, i tend to look for them, just play a little tighter, and let them bet for you, ^_^ i remember sitting at a .5/.10 cent table with 5 dollars and leaving with 60, because there was 2 overbettors, its just lovely ^_^
