best place to play low limits on the strip?

Hey guys Im going to be heading to vegas in 4 weeks for the first time for 4 days and wanted to know what you guys that have been there felt are the best places to play 1-2nl or 2-5nl. I will be staying i believe at imperial palace which is in the middle of the strip. Im looking for a fun place to play as well as a good place to make money.

Also what places have the best weekly tournaments with buyin's under 150 dollars. Id like something with blinds that aren't too quick and where u get enough chips to play.

thanks!

Also, I highly advise you to stay away from some of the cheaper tournaments around town, as the structure can be just awful.

Here are some recommendations. Also see the Bishop's reviews here.

Also, here is another room review site (although I think allvegaspoker, above, is a bit better).
IP should be fine for your cash game, and no one can beat Binion's tourney's for price to play ratio.

hey Alien have you ever been down during WSOP? I will be there next year and wondering what kind of side games they got going on normally. I know it kind of depends but just wondering if you have any knowledge on this. If you have posted this in past a link would be great.

I have not been there during the wsop, no. I would imagine that the volume is a lot higher everywhere, but that the level of play, at least at 2/5 NL and up is higher as well.

well i knew those sites i was just looking for some first hand accounts from some of the people on this site. I heard that the venetian has one of the nicest poker rooms so im sure i will stop there and play one day. I know the imperial palace is supposed to have a bad room but easy competition. Im sure i will end my nights/ mornings there but would like to venture out around the strip and see some of the other places.

Seems like living in Vegas would ruin the entire idea / fun of Vegas ^^

But still.....you can always find a game going

I was there in July at the same time as the WSOP. Iwalked down to the Rio everyday that I was there.
Right next door to the Imperial House is a little place called O'Shaeys. It a small room that plays low limit cash games out front and then they have a $45 buy-in tourny @ 1pm and I think another @ 5pm and one at midnight.

Those where the times when I was there in July. I'm assuming they are the same.

Small little place that is run by the Flamingo. The games were easy to get into and the people were very friendly.

I hope this helps some and have a great time.

I was there last October on business and was able to play in a few tourneys at Paris and Caesars. The ones at Paris were extremely soft. Buy in's were 60 and 150 I believe.

The 1/2 NL cash game was also full of tourists looking to gamble. TAG worked well.

The poker "room" is really nothing though, kind of just a pit in the middle of the casino next to the bar.

Caesars has a nice room.
