Beginning BR

I now have a BR of $1.86 at Stars. I have been playing the 10FPP tourney and placed in the money enough times to give me what I think is enough to start playing the micro limit tables. I am going to try to build my BR to $10 and then buying into SNGs or MTTs with money over the $10. An example would be; I have run my BR to $17, so I might play a $5 SNG. My goal to start off with is to make enough to buy PokerTracker and still have a small BR to build with. Thoughts?

At $17, play the $1 or $3 SNGs. You will be able to absorb a bad run better. It would only take 3 losses at $5 for you to go broke. Don't play the $5's until you hit $50 BR or more. Just my opinion.

Don't even play a $3 till u hit $20 or so.These are turbo's so more varience is involved. If you do play when you reach $20,start by stabbing at 3 of them.If you lose them drop back down to $1SNG's.

This is coming from a guy who deposited $25,ran into some bad luck, and dropped down to $3.80(and 160 FFP's).I took a break from pokerstars for a couple weeks then decided to go for broke.I played 3-$1 sng's and won them(these players suck hard for the most part). Then I took a couple shots at the $3 turbo's since I hate the slow pace of regulars to only clear $3 in an hour and a half.I won one and got second in one. Then I played a $1 MTT in which I cashed $10 for 23rd place(1rst was over $400).

I've been playing the $3 turbos for the last week or so and I currently sit at over $85 .I don't plan on moving up until I get over $130 so I will be kinda rolled to play the $6 turbo's.I Don't want to play anymore regular length SNG's until I get enough to play $10 ones.I seem to make more per hour at this level seeing as how they only take half as long.

This was my 2 cents, and good luck with the bankroll building.

The aggressive (but within proper BR management) way to do it:
Play the micro limit (and I mean limit, not no-limit) tables until you have at least $10, $15 would be preferable. Then play $1 SNGs. When you have 20+ buyins for a higher-level, single-table SNG, play that. Don't even think about playing MTT tourneys (except for freerolls).

Isn't .02/.04 the lowest for LHE on stars? If that's the case, you have about 24 big bets, so you are going to need to be lucky just not to go bust early before you can even think about sngs.

Come to think of it,If you are any good at SNG's and hate FL(I know I do)I'll throw you $2 outa my account. You'll have enough to play 3 of them and as long as you play a good game you should be able to make it out of the "red zone" of the BR.

Playing micro stakes ring games with any less than 2 full buy-ins will sink you quicker than anything.6-8 donks vs. you will break you for sure. They will call any raise, bet,or re-raise with any 2 cards hoping to hit. With 5 or more in every hand they usually do.

Also don't forget about the 25cent,50cent(no not the rap artist),and last but not least the 10cent turbo(with $50 added) MTT's.Maybe take a buck or so and play these.

Just reply to this before you play and I'll hook ya up.If you get some kind of decent roll going($20 or more)pay me back.If not I'm only out a couple of bucks so don't sweat it.

I'm on here a lot on and off so next time we catch each other,I'll meet you at a table and transfer.

Before I push the submit button on this I just want to suggest nobody bother me for money!!Please!!!I feel like doing this only once as a kind gesture to a loyal member.

GL with that. I've been trying the same thing as you for a while now (along with KingCurtis) but I can't for the life of me break past $25. I'll keep trying though, if nothing else I am persistent!

Question Alon, how did you get FPPs without a bankroll to start with?

You've done better than me; I think I've won 0.17 or thereabouts 3 times playing those.

My guess is he(or she?)once had a money account and busted out.

I think the funny thing is how I offer free money while drunk and don't get a response yet.Well, the offer still stands unless you don't get back to me before I go brokeski.

I didn't plan on playing anything but the limit .02/.04 until I made enough over $10 to buyin into a MTT or SNG. I wouldn't use anything under the $10 trying to keep that as a base amount. I have done this before as I think I said in other threads and usually works unless I tilt and do what I just said I wouldn't

Thanks but I think I'll try to do this on my own. I do appreciate the offer though.

I cashed out and quit playing a while back for personal reasons. I had about .25 cents and over 1200 FPPs in my account when I started playing again. I've also managed to get a few tickets into the weekly 2nd rounds, played 1 and didn't cash but will try again. I seem to do good at the Stud freerolls, not that I'm any good at Stud but I think the others just really suck
