BEERM4N and BRM

Ok so i recently withdrew from FTP and left my self with $50 in my account. I've never taken any notice of BRM and i just just deposit enter trnys and jag one every now and then (Still down $100's). After reading through the CC forum i've decided i want to give BRM a real crack. Basically i don't want to have to depsit again.

So with the $50 i left in my account i gave $30 to a friend so I'm actually starting with $20. (Also this is the first time i have ever recorded my results in a spreasheet so now i no which games im losing money in).

Now what i say next doesn't represent good BRM but thats what I'm posting to find out. I started out playing 1+25 6max sit n go's. After 4 of these tourneys i hadn't cashed at all. (3x 3rd and 1x 4th). So i had a crack at 5nl (I know out of my BR) and i made the $5 back plus another $5. So my bankroll was ~$25. I thought i'd have another crack at the 1+25 sng's. And i failed again!! Back to $15 and ever since i have been playing 5nl and my bankroll is now $55. I feel alot more confident playing 5nl than what i do sng.

My plan is to keep updating this thread and let you guys know how my BR is going. Wish me luck.

I have one question and that is how many buy-ins should i have for each level to practise good BRM>?

Good going, but if you want to minimize your risk, you should leave the table whenever you double up. When you're playing 200bbs deep (which is what you're doing when you're playing with $10 or more at this level), you are risking a significant dent to your roll if you lose a big pot against someone else with a similar stack size. From here on out you have two options:

1. Keep playing 5nl, hope that you don't run into some bad variance, and get adequately rolled for it (20 buy-ins, or $100).

2. Move down to 2nl and play until you reach $100, then move back up to 5nl.

Both limits are extremely beatable, it's just one is a little more risky to your bankroll. From here on out, you should make sure you have at least 20 buy-ins (preferably more though), so that you don't risk going broke. Good luck to you.
