If you're playing with your entire bankroll with the potential for it to dissolve with only a couple of bad beats, it's a good idea to move to lower limit play when you get a new bankroll. Although the bigger money games are tempting because of the potential to win more, you can also lose more, as you've discovered.
Maybe someone else here has some numbers about what kind of bankroll you should bring to the table at different limits. |

Ive had that happen also but I leard from my mistakes. Only play the limits you can afford to bring 1/3 of your bankroll on the table and be max buyin,or in limit 100 times the small blind. That way if you go on a bad run you can just move on and not get crushed. If you have to just lower limits. If you play $2/$4 and you only have a $400 bankroll your looking to get hurt.

The two times you lost, if you're playing 2/4, couldn't possibly have been more than $96 put together. What did you do with the other $500?
Anyway, my standard recommendation is keeping a bankroll of at least 300 big bets (in the case of $2/$4 that would be $1200) and buying in with 30 big bets. 30 won't always be enough, but you can always restock. Either way, good luck to you. |
