| Bankroll, more info!!! Hello all. I would be interested to discuss the above topic. I do track what I do and I know I`m doing ok financially, either by luck or judgement I would always recomend that serious poker players keep good records. I know the first month or so I didnt, but I took a few big beats and straight away I identified the problem was my bankroll management - or lack of it. I would like all of your comments on the following points if you don`t mind:-
Thanks guys |

and finally...do you look at your bankroll as an overall bankroll or an individual bankroll for each site. My bankroll is the amount I am prepared to lose before I quit poker. This number lies somewhere between where I am now and my total profit since I started. It would take a hell of a bad run to lose the lot and I sincerely hope I would give it up before then. Fortunately I have a nice income and so can extend my bankroll to money not on poker sites but I am very careful about not raising my average buyin to a level where I would not b happy with the swings. A $1000 downswing once or twice a year is enough for me at the moment. Understanding the size of downswing you are likely to have at the levels you play at and being comfortable (though obviously not delighted) with it, is I think a big part of managing money. |
