Bankroll management question

Hi all.

I`m still going through a bad time - I think I`m playing too much

So that I don`t blow all of my bankroll I have withdrawn about $2,000 leaving me with $1,500.

I have about $700 on Party
$100 on Pokerstars
$130 on Titan
$570 on Ladbrokes

I want to become a good player, but I`m getting frustrated because last year, my first year plaing, I turned a profit of $6,000 (due to a couple of big MTT wins, one of $4,000)

This year, Jan, Feb, March, I have lost $550, broken down into -$200 MTT, -$300 cash and -$50 on SNG.

I`m not concerned about MTT - the nature of MTT, IMO, is that you will go for some time without a win and then hit a decent prize. SNG`s are ok, but I`m new to playing cash games. I find playing cash I do well for a few sessions and then take a big hit the takes away my good run!!!

Couple of questions. Based on the above info,
  1. Should I drop one or more of the sites and concentrate on one?
  2. What buyin should I play the following
MTT, SNG`s, NL cash, Limit cash?

Also, any advice on the frustration, apart from taking a break?

P.S. This comes on the back of NL game $0.25/0.50, limping with 33. Flop 3,4,6. Pot of about $5. Blind raises $3, UTG calls, I reraise $12. call call. turn K. check, check I raise my extra £20 all in. blind calls, UTG folds, blind shows 2,5 (it was well played by the guy - I though he was chasing a straight, how wrong u can be!!!)

hello

having the money spread on different sites dosent make difference, your bankroll is your bankroll no matter where it physically is.

my rule is as follows, no more then 10% of my bankroll in a cash game and no more then 1% in a tourney.

the tourney one is super tight but thats how I roll.

now if I go below that 10% in a cash game I drop down.

I think %10 is a little big, especially for someone who's not a very experienced ring game player. I personally try to stick to %5.

I like how small you allot to tournies; I play %5 for SnGs, but I think having 50+ buyins for MTTs is a great idea.

I use the 10% in rings but if at any point if I drop below i move down.

Like say im sitting at 1/2 NL with $2500 bankroll, if at any point I drop to $1999 I drop down to .50/1.00. and dont move back up till im above $2000.

This is not entirely correct; if you have your bankroll spread out, you may find yourself in a situation where you're playing some really awful opponents, get unlucky, want to re-buy to the table and can't. That's not a good situation to be in.

I've had this happen just a few times (while multitabling, it should be added) where I - stupidly - notice too late that I don't have enough left on the site to rebuy if I get a few unfortunate hands.

Other than that, Stormswa is of course correct; having your bankroll in NETeller, on Stars or any other place doesn't so much matter. For convenience I recommend that you try to consolidate it to two sites, but as long as you're not playing games that you can't re-buy to, you should be fine.

As for what you should be playing? If you're desperate for profits - any profits - I suggest you play whatever you're best at, and do it at one level lower than you usually do.
