I play in
Pokerstars Heads Up Tourney every day, I am trying to improve my game, and I am determined to place 1st in this. I started out placing way up in the thousands, and gradually became a little more knowledge of this game. I now reach the 5th round usually(each round is about 1 hour-even if you finish your table early),trying to reach 1st place. Today,a few hands into it,I had a pair of Queens, other player placed a high bet I called reraised, then he raised, left all-in. So,we both all-in .I see my pocket Queens are good at the time-other player A/k ,then flop,he hits his king for a pair. So,I am out early, pitiful, but my own bad call-i should have just called his,and went from there i think...... I know better than to do a all-in prior to flop. Pocket Queens usually good pair, not invincible, but good. So, I was taken out very early in this game. Disappointed with myself for doing that all-in. It was 1 of those moments I wished I could call my bet back for sure. I've learned again the hard way~never ever go all-in without seeing flop or a reading on my opponents cards-or is there something else i am missing for a lesson in what i did?. I am not whining per say, just berating myself for my bad call

I am really enjoying heads up,it's so different then full table of 6-9 players. Strategys are used so much differently in this game. I really am determined in this tourney to place 1st. It's in pokerstars,1000+50 tokies.sign up about 12:30pm eastern time, then it starts 1pm.eastern time. no, it's not cash, but good practice for cash heads up games.I've been lasting to 5th round, then I run into a lot of non stop all-ins,where I will finally call with high pair or high suited runners, and, watch them catch thiers instead. I never have come across a 'normal' poker player in 5th round. What I mean by 'normal'= make calls, place bets, get to the bend or even river, compared to the constant'all-in' players. I know all in players have thier rights-(we all go all in every day usually in a hand or two),but not much fun constantly doing the folding for good 5-20 minutes. I'm going to be more careful tomorrow when the time comes.Any advice/strategy on how to get beyond 5th round? it's texas hold 'em heads up no limit. thanks all
