Playing K9o from early position at a 8 player table is very marginal, especially with a min raise which really does nothing, this is a definite fold. Raise it up to 3-4x BB or fold, folding being the preferable line. As played, I would probably check behind on the turn and c/f the river.

If you are going to make a play with a mediocre han dUTG, you have to raise more than that. Your opponent had and Ace in the small blind, the call is understandable there. He also had a nut flush/straight draw on the turn so his call wasn't bad. I would have made a bigger bet on the flop because the flush and straight draws.

re: bad beat or just mis-played? poker Just raise pot after the flop. If he calls then check it out. If you get beat then just know you played it right. No it wasn't a bad beat but I would of put him on ace high and you only had K high strait. You didn't play it thaty bad if you had chips remaining. Sam/gomango

You really shoulda bet the flop there. If you get a caller then you have to check it down. I think it was misplayed, and above all it was just a marginal hand to begin with even though the villain had an even more marginal hand to go along with his luck........

yeah if you wanna play the han you should have bet more preflop and then made a good bet on the flop. then if he calls still bet the turn. him hitting his on the the river was a long shot but he lucked out cuz it wasnt much to pay to see the cards.

re: bad beat or just mis-played? poker I dont like the play with K9. I definetly dont like his play. But you shouldnt even be playing that junk. Especially with that many players at your table. And with the blinds very low. But i guess thats justt my style of play, we all play different.

I think you guys missed the part about the post and folds, when R.O.C. folded it became me and the blinds, K9 in a 3 handed table (especially against the blinds) is a playable hand. True enough I was just trying to take the blinds but after I hit I was in good shape. Im wondering if there was something I could or should have done differently to have that pot come my way.

I don't think it was misplayed, the guy got lucky, you did a mini raise and hit it on the flop, you should bet a little bit more to see if he was chasing the flush, and after he called the first time you should check, but it wasn't a bad play, this guy was a big fish

You could have chased him off if you had bet much larger sums. You bet not nearly enough for him to fold. Personally I would have folded, even with the ace, because I don't go about calling with nothing. But I suggest a stronger bet. And if that doesn't work, then the other guy is just a donk playing with ace high.
