Back in Business Hello All. I joined this forum hoping to improve my game and try to learn bankroll management. I have had some very emotional hot and cold runs. My largest wins have been in MTT's, I have made several final tables over the short time I've played online. Although I always seem to blow my bankroll in cash games this is becoming very annoying. I know my play is good enough to make money in cash games and I do it on a regular basis I just always seen to lose a couple big hands go on tilt and finish off my bankroll. For example over a two week period I made turned $20 into $600 playing 25/50 and 50/1 only to come home from work one morning and blow $500 in couple hours. Anyway today was a good day finished 10 in CD Poker $5000k guarnteed. First final table since Christmas Eve (finished 1st in 2K christmas eve freeroll win $500) So my goal now in to slowly increase my Bankroll which now stands at $138 playing a mixture of MTT and cash games .10/.20 no limit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jcat i have same problem with cash games. I blew most of my PS roll a couple pf days ago in them I kept winning 10s of small pots and triple my buyin, then i lose big ones. I think im overvaluing middle pairs and put my opponents on bluffs too much. Ive decided cash games just arent for me But youve turned 20$ into 600$ which is great so i think it may just be luck. But if youre goot at MTT and have time for them, maybe you should focus more on them.

I think you are right about putting my opponents on bluffs to much. I also find if a super loose player comes to the table all my focus is on taking his money. But in the end I loosen up too much and let the Donkey take my money. I only have time for MTT on weekend and dont like sit n go, so I will continue to play the cash games in hopes of more consistant play.

A very loose player came and i started playing my loose game too, raising with 86 and stuff, but i never hit the flop and didnt do very well in making it seem like i did. Thats when i lost most of it. Why dont you like sit n gos? |

re: Back in Business poker In 10/20c NL Ring Games, play tight ABC poker. Don`t try any fancy plays and don`t risk your stack on a bluff. There are lots of weak players at this level who will gift you their chips if you just sit back and let them make mistakes. The only way to lose is if you start making mistakes yourself. Stay calm and patient.
