| The reason nobody's been prosecuted yet is because the government made a stupid, unenforceable law in the first place. Sometimes I wonder if they did that on purpose just to preserve the status quo - sites get to continue operating because the government knew full well when the law got passed that they were outside their jurisdiction anyway but the land based casinos get to think they're keeping their government-guaranteed monopolies and anti-gambling groups get pacified because the government has done something, no matter how meaningless it is in reality. Anywho, here's hoping the whole thing collapses under the weight of its own hypocrisy and they listen to the Productivity Commission and regulate instead of chasing idiotic prosecutions. |

Here in the US, we actually benefit from aliens, the drug companies are huge and online poker has not been deemed illegal. It is sneakiness at it's sleaziest. Money laundering eh? Easiest way in the whole world to launder money would be to advertise on E-Bay, some legal product and have your cronies use pay pal to move the money. Can't even imagine a way to stop that because you could show enough transactions that are legal to cover the 1 or 2 that are laundered. Easy peasy. Makes me want to do something stupid... |

| re: Australian and US police to target online poker I thought it was legal in Australia. "As The Courier-Mail reported last month, several young Queenslanders are making a mint playing poker online sometimes earning up to $750,000 a year tax-free" Quotes like that really annoy me. What is their point with this quote? And? Who cares, really? Good luck to them. Every country seem to be money grabbing at everything, I wonder why they don't tax the national lottery? The thing is, people who have started to gamble used their OWN money which was earned through their jobs that paid taxes anyway, yet they feel it's within their right to take a big percentage through tax. Such a joke, yet events which draw in money for everyone which involves gambling they don't tax you on. At the end of the day, if you GAMBLE your OWN money, you shouldn't ever have to pay tax on it ANYWHERE. |

| re: Australian and US police to target online poker This whole thing reminds me of that scene from scarface. Where Mr Montana goes on a huge rant about how everyone needs someone to point the finger at and call them the bad guy. Thats what this whole thing is about. _________________________________________ Ambers Advice @ http://bit.ly/GrahamGameOn247 |
