Hi there, I live in Pennsylvania and go to AC a couple of times a year. The Tropicana has good tournaments with low buy ins and the Borgata has a nice poker room too. I also enjoy playing at "Billy's Card Room" in Bally's. Wherever you decide to play, good luck!

Congrats on making your way to AC. Its an awesome town for card players. If you are looking for sit and go's check out the Borgatta and the Taj. The Borgatta has the best looking cocktail waitresses and a lot of loose money. Its where I usually play, big room. The Taj has a mix of players, you'll find really good ones, and really bad ones. Also check out the trop if you want a smaller room feel, again with bad players. Theres a reall small tourny at the hilton. I don't know when it runs, but I think its like $40 or something like that. Check out their website for the details. Enjoy it.

re: Atlantic City NJ poker Hey i live in wildwood, only like 30-45 minutes from AC. My family owns a house there and they frequently go and play poker. I have heard good things about the borgatta and tropicana so i would check both of them out. Good luck at the tables.

I went to AC once and played in a tournament at the Taj. The play was good but conservative, and wish in retrospect to play at the cash games since all the players there are tight players from what I saw. I would go to Borgata, apparently that is east coast poker heaven. AC from my experience was the armpit of the universe.

re: Atlantic City NJ poker A lot of the low buy-in tournaments are going to have pretty bad structures forcing there to be a lot more luck when you get down to two tables. Atlantic City Poker Guide - A Guide To Atlantic City Poker - Home Check this site out, and click on tournament schedule to see if anything catches your eye. I would say the best value would be the Borgata tournaments/sng's although they are a little more expensive. I would either stick with 1/2 NLHE or a SNG if you plan on playing elsewhere. I frequent the Tropicana since my friends and I have a shore house in Sea Isle City (about 25 minutes away) and find the play to be pretty beatable if you find the right table. If you don't like the table you are at simply ask to be sat at a different one, they are usually pretty cool with it. The Taj has a decent mix of players but the chips are so damn dirty!!!! Nasty honestly. The other one I go to sometimes is the Borgata. It's easy to get a lot of drinks there and have a good time in a really really big poker room for A.C. Just know its going to be a younger crowd and a bunch of young bucks that think they are on TV or for some reason or another try to act like Daniel Negreanu.
