An Apology to all Cardschat members Last week i was involved with another member in a hand who going in had a better hand...i just sucked out on him and won.He became abusive about it and i let it go,then it began again today when we were tabled togather...so i lashed out back at him...and received a warning from Cardschat for my actions...at 1st i felt this was wrong, since i didnt start anything or use abussive language..then as i cooled down,i decided it was the right thing, that even if i felt i was right, that this wasnt my backyard, and i had no right getting into an argument with another member, and thru the player chat arguing and making comments that other members shouldnt have to hear...i was wrong and i apologize to anyone who was there and further more i apologize to the entire membership for not acting like a good Cardschat member should...please accept my sincere apology

Thanks for the apology, it is appreciated. This is a good reminder to others that our rules here at the forum also apply to our games: no abusive language/flaming of other members. Consequently, the other member in the argument was banned, as he had had a previous offense. We take these things seriously, as arguments and flaming at the tables affects everyone, not just the parties involved, and reflects negatively on CC as a whole. If you are having issues with abusive chat from anyone in a CC sponsored tournament, rather than retaliate, we ask that you pm a copy of the chat to the moderators. It will be dealt with.

We all let situations get the better of us now & then & the anonymity of the net makes it that much easier. The decency & respect that members show each other here is one of the key differences that sets this forum apart. Kudos for stepping up.

Excellent to own up to it. Now that's what a CC member is made of. Solid Very cooool. A lesson we can all learn from. CardsChat is one of the Best Forums out there. Respect of others should always come be first. Positive Encouragement in the Forum should definitely be second. Contributions and being an Active member should at least be third. CardChats

Just to understand a bit better, what exactly is not allowed? Lets say someone goes all in preflop, and i call with maybe Ace king suited, or high pocket pair. He has 9-7 suited and wins with a straight. Is it acceptable to type something like "damn donkey", or would this not be acceptable? Is there any page that shows me all these rules?

Wow. I must admit that I haven't read the "Rules & FAQ" in a while. "• Personal attacks on other members or purposeless inflammatory posts will NOT be tolerated." I think a "rules refresher" always helps, regardless of a member's status or tenure.

I must be missing some thing in the rules link that you posted. I couldn't find any of the ChurchChoirChat table conduct rules there. Seriously, is there somewhere that has CardsChat table rules that are similar to what I quoted from you? |

So the closest published thing is probably: • Personal attacks on other members or purposeless inflammatory posts will NOT be tolerated. Quote:

LOL JD I had my IE set so that all I saw was the "Cardschat FAQ" listed and didn't see the "CardsChat Rules" just below those links. thought I was losing my mind when I could see anything about conduct, as listed above, on any of the pages for the FAQ links. I usually don't have much problem with player chat. Mainly, just like the rule listed above, I just for some reason don't see the chat a lot. I guess the other reason is I also don't believe it's good practice to try and "teach" at the tables. I usually just like to give the donkey a "nh" and hope his donkey ways continue so I can get some chips back. It also could be I have played poker online for 4.5 years and while I still get a little po'd when I receive an extreme bad beat, there really isn't anything that I haven't already seen, heard, or experienced at the tables. GL at the tables all and maintain your cool. Your game will suffer if you don't. |

re: An Apology to all Cardschat members poker I stopped playing the CardsChat FR's, because of the abuse. Now...... it's relaxing to play a CardsChat FR. The appealing thing about them now is the friendly atmosphere. I sat next to someone today, for most of the tourney, who used to be my arch enemy because of a CardsChat FR spit. Today was wonderful. Just folks finishing their coffee, spinning off a Sat. morning. Thank you CardsChat. -

chef you are one of my most respected friends online, sorry to hear the bad news, glad you handled it like a true team player. when i take a beat i usually let the other players comment, no need to insult another member. good luck on the tables jimmy, you play good enough to deserve a suckout every so often.
