AP/UB launch new platform ahead of KGC ruling.

Tokwiro Enterprises Inc. has announced the launch of CEREUS, a new platform that will encompass Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet, both owned by Tokwiro.
With just hours to go before the Kahnawake Gaming commission announce the results of their investigation into the second instance of cheating at a Tokwiro owned company, senior management seem to be positioning themselves to deflect any adverse ruling.
However, we have to remember the farcical punishment dished out to Absolute Poker earlier this year after “consultants” within the company ripped off players for an amount that could run into several million dollars.
I really hope that I'm wrong but I think we can safely assume the KGC have already decided to take virtually no action against Tokwiro Enterprises and Ultimatebet. At most they will probably receive a slap on the wrist and issue a limp, facile statement similar to the one handed out to them after the Absolute Poker scandal.
The incestuous relationship between the KGC and Tokwiro is well documented so one has to ask the obvious question: do they have advance knowledge of the ruling?
The timing is suspicious to say the least.
Just hours prior to the KGC’s ruling being made public, Tokwiro release a press statement announcing the implementation of their new encrypted software platform and the benefits it can offer it’s players. The platform will operate across both the Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet brands. Could this be a pre-cursor to merging the two sites? It would certainly be a shrewd move to re-brand both sites under a single entity after they’ve both been involved in cheating scandals. From some angles this could be seen as a first step in making this happen and distancing future clients from the tainted Absolute Poker/Ultimatebet brands.
Bear in mind that the KGC could (and indeed should) remove Tokwiro’s operating licence so to push forward with a multi-million dollar software launch is, at best either a huge gamble or very optimistic.
Tokwiro have stated the research and development of CEREUS has taken at least 12 months but the domain registrations only took place on the 23rd July this year - 24 hours before issing their press release.

The long and complex trail of offshore companies relating to Tokwiro now has a new addition. It seems the platform is registered to HST Enterprises Inc.:

To further complicate matters, the domain names “cereuspokernetwork.com”, “cereuspokernetwork.net”, “cereuspoker.com” and “cereuspoker.net” were all registered on the same day (23rd July 2008). If this development has been going on for at least a year it seems a little unusual to register the domains so recently.
One has to assume HST Enterprises Inc. is a subsidiary company of Tokwira or Blast Off Ltd. (who run their management) as if it were a owned by a third party, Tokwiro would be unable to protect the brand name.

This is another one we should all keep a close eye on in the continuing KGC/Tokwiro saga.

All the more reason for we folks in the US to convince our Legislators to grant licenses to our own casinos, e.g., at Vegas and Atlantic City to run such sites; within our borders, we would have viable access to the court system and keep funds within our boundaries.

Couldn't agree more.
The sooner we either take responsibility away from the KGC or force them into a position to act like a proper and legitimate authority there is no option but to legislate individual jurisdictions autonomously.
It might even give Congress the kick in the balls they richly deserve and give them the incentive to levy control with bodies who can both be trusted and know what they're doing.
My personal idea would be to set up an arm of the NGC that would initially take responsibility prior to becoming a seperate legislator for the industry as a whole.

which part?

The only way I would ever play at AP or UltimateBet (or the new name CEREUS) is if they come clean on the cheating scandals, name and prosecute the perpetrators, and refund all stolen money (with interest).

IMO, the chances of them doing this, are less than .00000000001%.
