Anyone use Poker Tracker?

I was just wondering how it works for you.

Search around the forums and you will find that probably half of the users use either PokerTracker or Holdem Manager.

Poker Tracker and HEM are great imo HEM is better but there is not to much to choose from. Search is your friend here there will be lots of threads like these.

Also on PT and HEM website there is excellent turorials and free trials for both so check them out before you choose one.

Ummm i would junk PT3, if i could.. it's that bad, every time the poker sites update, you have to download an update.. But my mad PC, HEX skills keep that down to a small amount....

Can 1 tracking software work, with out f-ing updates????????????????????

I'm not sure about PT3 with the updates as I haven't used it in a couple years, but with HEM, they really aren't too bad with the updates. I mean, you might have to download an update once every two weeks. It would be nice if they could build an auto-updater into the program though so it would do it for you. I have no problem with the updates because I know how many sites they are supporting now, and not every site updates at the same time, but they should implement something like an antivirus does. Just downloading when necessary.

Poker Copilot is pretty good if you have a mac and dont want to dual boot. I just started using it recently, I dont think its as nice as the other two but it does alright for me.

This makes no sense.

It doesn't matter which tracker you use, when the poker sites update their clients and change things like hand history formats (even so much as an extra space, or comma, or dollar sign), or add new game types, or change the layout of the lobby (their table scanners use screen-scraping and OCR to read the tables), or any number of other changes that trackers rely on, then of course it requires a tracker update. Don't blame PT3/HEM for that, blame the poker rooms -- if PT3/HEM didn't release an update, then they would no longer work for those rooms anymore.

You'd be a lot more pissed if you paid for PT3/HEM and it only worked until the next poker client update, and they didn't release an update. So you should be thankful that they're on top of updates like that.

And having used both of them, HEM is far superior to PT3 IMO. I started with PT3 when it was in beta, and ditched it after my first trial of HEM.

Oh, and not sure what you're implying by your "mad PC HEX skills." There's nothing much your "hex" skills can do for such an update, at least not one of any significance. Maybe for just a byte count or a character change, but why would you rather spend 10x-1000x the effort to figure that out than to just run a legit updater? Most client updates aren't something you can "hack" by running code through SoftICE/OllyDbg/WinDbg/IDA and patching bytes to short-circuit a serial number check. It requires actual logic changes. I can't help but think perhaps your copy is cracked and you're not paying for it -- and there's no excuse for that, especially for software that costs literally peanuts compared to the improvements it can bring to your game. PT3 and HEM paid for themselves within probably 2-3 weeks of my buying them.

I'm just downloaded the software from its official website and using it now...there are many settings need to be done before it can be function well...but once you fixed...it can provide many useful data for improving yr skills...

No but I used to use a free version of it and i liked it took just about maybe 2 times and I was used to it. I really liked the graphs they had gave me a good understanding of my results and also they stored alllot of info. While I had it I would definitely say it was worth the time using it that said I think you should try a trial for yourself see what you think and after its done decide if you want to pay monthly for the service.

Unless things have changed with PT3, there is no monthly service unless you're subscribing to their server-side table scanner. Same with HEM, although right now their server-side scanner is still free since it's still technically in beta. Client side scanning is always free.

LOL, I love the techie bits. Also, the only thing that I could pull out of what kid said with that was maybe that he was cracking it, but who knows. I'll be the first to admit that when I first started using HEM(and PT2 before that), I had cracked versions, but mainly it was because I wanted to get a good representation of what they could do, and I didn't feel like I would get what I wanted out of the trial. But after using it for the amount of time I felt adequate(wasn't too long...) then I bought it and I've never regretted it, and have definitely paid it off in winnings.
