Anyone having trouble logging into bodog? and accessing their website?

As of yesterday noon, I can't seem to access bodog's software because of some connection problem. However all my other online applications are working just fine, with the exception of bodog. In addition, i can't access their website. I'm getting a "Server not found" both on Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Please tell me it's now just me.

exactly the same thing is happening to me have you contacted them?

I've tried emailing them, but the email failed. Probably because of server problems.

oh ur not the only one, i have just tried logging in to bodog about 5 minutes ago and im having same problem. im not sure what to tell you but im sure they will fix it soon.

good thing i play on pokerstars!! lol!


joking, anyway the servers prolly just crashed, they will need few days maybe

Downloaded the software from newbodog and it works fine now.

i have never had a problem with any poker site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got to be kidding me.....they change their software completely on the fly like that? I started the previous thread, it has been out since yesterday afternoon...I was in a tournament. So you're saying we have to download new software....Interesting. I have called them twice and haven't got that response, but I will try it.

This is the result of a legal dispute over the ownership of the Bodog.com domain name. We are fighting this dispute. We are confident that we will win, but until all is settled, I do not want our battle to interrupt your play.
So, I present you with newbodog.com. You won't notice very many changes: same website, same brand, same product, and same service. Just a new domain name.
We are working to resolve any remaining issues on the temporary site as soon as possible, and fully expect to have our original site back up shortly.
I sincerely apologize if you were affected by our interruption and assure you that I will update you soon.

After the fourth time downloading it worked for me. About the domain name, hasn't bodog been around a while? How could it just now be a problem?

I had the same Prob, I have a cable modem and went to the lan connection and clicked the repair box and that fixed my problem

i removed all bodog progs from my cpu then ran the newbodog.exe file and im up and runnin!!

whats the over/under on threads??

No joy here, but since I am on Hiatus, it isn't a huge worry. By the time I get off Hiatus, I'm sure my condition will have improved.

Everyone within the entire internet gambling industry is starting to take notice today of how the Bodog.com domain name hijacking applies to their businesses. Everyone in the internet gambling industry realizes however that people were doing various forms of gambling via the internet before Molnick’s patent was awarded.


Method patents are widely litigated and Molnick's internet gambling method patent can be challenged in court but the real question is:

What can a internet gambling operator do in order to avoid the opportunistic Molnick from holding them hostage?

1.) Change the ownership of their URLS around on a continual basis.

By changing the domain name ownership often, it will be virtually impossible to secure a court order against the specific owner of the URL because it will constantly be influx.

2.) Change the registrar of the domain name to one that is based outside of the jurisdiction of US courts.

While this does not 100% prevent a domain name hijacking from taking place, it certainly will make it more difficult, time consuming and costly for the party poker trying to acquire the domain name.

Point-Spreads.com has spoken to several affiliates this morning after reading our article about the Bodog.com domain name hijacking. The Bodog team was able to get a mirrored website up at NewBodog.com within 12 hours of the domain name being hijacked.

"Bodog was very reactive to my needs as an affiliate right from the beginning of the issue," stated super affiliate Bones McCoy of 1800-Sports.com. "I already re-routed the tracking codes to the NewBodog.com URL and it is business as usually as far as I am concerned."
