Anyone else obsessed with the 300k Sunday on Partypoker

Hello, I am flint and I am a 300Kaholic.

Well, anyways I got my first entry through a freeroll satellite to the 50 seat frenzy where I bagged my entry and ever since I have been hooked and obsessed with winning this thing. My major goal in poker is to win this baby once this year.

So anyways after I got my first entry to the 300k, I went broke as I had been playing over my BR for weeks.

Now I am back with a BR of $30 (down $10 in the last 3 days). Last week I got in the 300K tourney again by an initial outlay of $2, only to drop out of the tournament just before the money.

It seems that I do very well in these qualifiers, but I am having a lot of trouble even placing in the money for 'normal' $2 tournaments. Should I just concentrate on getting more 300k entries?

Also, I would love to know if there are any other pointers you can give me that could help me get a better position in the 300k tournament the next time I qualify.

That is for US players, I think the 300k will be a good way for me to make some nice money once I start finishing in the money constantly. The main difference is that I can get all my winnings tax free from a EU site such as Partypoker while I would have to give my government upto 60% of my winnings on either pokerstars or fulltilt.

I cashed in the 300k in January for about $460. Haven't played it since. Think I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Tell me about your experience. How many times have you played the tournament? Any other positions? Good tips?

I have finished 508th and last week I finished 343rd. As 250 get into the money I feel I am getting closer to getting some nice money and once I do I'll have a much better BR to work with.

Anyways, I'll try to take $2 route into the 300k today, its not actually that hard if you don't get very unlucky. I do hope I make it again as this time its time to make some money

There is more luck involved in the qualifier to the 50 seat frenzy than I remembered. I think I need to re-think how I can get a way to get my BR so I can attend the 50 seat frenzy ($15) since I seem to do well at that.

To answer your unasked question: yes, it does feel damn good to quote my own post...

I'm playing the 50 seat frenzy as we speak.

The satellites are ridiculously soft, the $23 turbo being the easiest. The tourney itself is hard to get deep in without a decent stack as the blinds get pretty aggressive after a couple of hours.

I've played it probably 10 or 12 times and made the money a couple.

The secret is to play it a lot of times, play good poker and let the law of probability do the rest.

I don't play it (or the Stars big tournies) enough for it to be anything other than a long-shot to quick cash, so I enjoy playing them but don't get too excited.

I did a search of my blog for 300k references Irexes' Happy Fun Poker Blog: Search results for 300k

Might be something in there that is of interest (or possibly not)

I can't really remember a great deal about it to be honest. I played quite tight for the 1st hour or so. I took advantage of a couple of blind steals, built my chips up steadily. Made it to the money reasonably comfortable, then shortly after that I took my chances with a 50/50 pf and was out.

I'm not really a MTT player, I dabble with them every now and again. Finished on the final table in the 8K rebuy on Party, and I finished 3rd in a Tourny on Ladbrokes for around $800 about 2 yrs ago. Just read up on MTT strategy and you should be able to cash every now and again. GL.
