Anyone catch "Pokerstars Million Dollar Challenge" on TV?
I'm just wondering if this is worth the trouble of watching. Full Tilt's recent "Face the Ace" was pretty poorly done, to put it mildly. I'm hopeful that Stars has learned from the competition's mistake and done something better.

To be honest, I thought it was going to be more interesting then what it was.Pokerstars is where i play, but i think they lost some cool points. For such a renouned poker site, you would think it would be better.

I DVR'ed to get the password for the freeroll and ended up not being able to play. I watched about 20 minutes yesterday out of idle curiosity and found it pretty terrible. The lone highlight of the show is that Daniel was actually pretty forthcoming with some good ways to pick up tells on opponents. I doubt I'll watch it regularly, as I just can't stand to watch clueless people play poker.

I had it on but was HU at one CC table and had been at another FT for a CC event for over an hr so didn't really pay attention. What little I did see, I liked better than Face the Ace but agree with most that it wasn't spectacular and don't see it getting great ratings.
Then again I didn't really pay close attention to what was going on so my read on this show may be way off base. |

re: Anyone catch "Pokerstars Million Dollar Challenge" on TV?
Speaking of crappy poker TV shows I just found out about another one. Joe Hachem hosts this Australian show called "The Poker Star". It's basically like a poker version of "The Apprentice" where Hachem will systematically eliminate people after they perform challenges. The winner will be seen as an ambassador of poker, get $100,000 cash, and several large tournament entries.
This one may be better as it's not strictly a http://thepokerstar.com.au/home.htm. |
