anybody heard of the famous bodog J7

i was playing a SnG on bodog and was a bit shortstacked when i was dealt pocket aces, i pushed all in and had two callers, they had me covered, one had the other covered and the bigger stack pushed as well, the third called. both players had Jack 7.

i couldn't understand why anybody would push with J7 so i asked and they both said that it's bodogs famous hand. i'd never heard of such a thing. i ended up winning the hand, they did both catch a jack but that's it.

about six hands later, i get dealt J7 and i mucked it, sure enough, flop comes JJ7. i kid you not, this really happened.

has anybody ever heard of this?

Yes, I've heard of it. It's called random card distribution and coincidence.

Just the other day I was holding AA and flopped an A...ZOMG, I couldn't believe it. That never happens.

sarcasm noted, but i'm serious about this. i hope it really is a coincidence. it's just strange to me that two players would both call all ins with J7.

Sounds pretty rediculous. Probably some donks got lucky with it before and never lay it down now. Just a coincidence that it hit when you folded it. Seeing the J77 on the flop once is not proof that it is rigged for J7, lol.

I think this is the work of KD, he goes from site to site spreading rumors about hands that always win. The legendary 84o, A9 which he got some lady pro to talk about, gotta watch him.

KD = Kerouacs Dog

Long standing, much posting member that has been absent lately. He's raised some interesting discussions regarding hands like 84o and such.

Im sure there is nothing to the rumor, but maybe they called because of the amount to call. You didn't say if they were in the blinds, position, etc. etc. That might explain the call.

I was in a freeroll once, and a guy tells us he always plays 69x, cause it was his friends favorite hand. He showed 69 winning several hands. I played 69 the rest of the night, and won with it.

Aint life grand?

Maybe it has to be J diamonds and a 7 as in Jack Daniels Old Number 7 to work.
JD would agree to this
