Any US players have trouble with bodog payouts? I need advice, feel kinda sick

^^ can't edit title apparently, damn typos

I'm having trouble getting a straight answer out of my bank, but it is looking like they have refused to accept the check I got from bodog. I had no problems getting the check itself, but if it's no good then I'm screwed.

I was told yesterday that they had put a temporary hold on the check for some reason and that it would be cleared today with no problems. Well this morning they have reversed the credit to my account and I have not been able to get any explanation yet.

Has anyone had anything similar to this happen? We are talking about $1500 here.

Get a new bank. You are their customer. They make money because of you. They need you. You can find 20 alternatives to them. Don't forget to tell them why you're leaving (bad service) and don't forget to tell your new bank why you switched (so they'll know not to pull the same).

Update.

According to my bank (which is one of the larger banks in the US) the check outright bounced.

I was on the phone with bodog for around 45 minutes and the end result of this conversation is that they are going to "investigate and get back to me tomorrow" and that I will have the option of a new check if it is needed or the money credited back to my account. I did get the bodog rep to admit that they have been having some "issues" with their check provider in the US and that this might have caused the problem which makes me feel reaallly great about any check I get from them now. And why the hell would I want the money redeposited to my account? If I can't withdraw it and use it I may as well be playing with playmoney which I already have plenty of now.

I also have the option of waiting a few days after which I am supposed to get the original check back in the mail from my bank and it will be a legal check again which I can then try and redeposit somewhere.

If I had any shred of proof this was on my bank I'd be taking business elsewhere but this actually looks more like it's on bodog..

Has anyone had anything like this happen before? I'll keep you guys updated but I'm probably done with bodog period now.

Wow. Never had that issue. I've only withdrawn a few times and never more than a few hundred, but it was always no problem.

Also, since the check bounced, you should be able to get Bodog to reimburse you for any fees charged by your bank.

I made a 25.00 deposit in my Bodog account in 2005-2days later the morons told me that my electronic check bounced-Not true since nothing was noted on my account that they even attempted to withdraw the money.
I gave them the correct account and Router number but somewhere down the line they screwed up and lost inputed bank info.
They basically took the 25.00 credited to my account had 15.00 left and Banned me from opening another account and Blacklisted me from Ultimate Bet- for their accounting mistake

The transaction problem was their fault and I offered to send a moneyorder-certified to correct there mistake-they refused my offer, closed my account and messed up access to my Ultimate Bet Account by placing me on a online pokerroom black list.

Bodog or Bodoglife trust them?
I don't

Hummmm... Think I'll keep my play there to freerolls and keep my cash on Full Tilt and Poker Stars. I've had good relationships with them so far. Has anyone ever had any problems with either of them?

There was some issues back in April when I withdrew to go to vegas. BD sent me an e-mail saying there was a problem with the check, and that they were sending a new one. But I had already deposited it without issue, so I still have the second one they sent me. Anyway, they did offer to cover any bank fees.
Anyway, it all worked out, so I wouldn't worry too much.

the problem is they have to use these us company's to write the checks so that we can cash them . the problems come from that end and all that bodog can do is guarantee payment .

until we get the law on our side we can expect many problems along the way . believe me they want to pay you and will . where's the check from Georgia ? they're the weak link .

when everything was legal and all good I could win a couple hundred one night and spent it the next day with my netteller debit card.

we need to fight for our rights and we'll have it good again . go PPA

Thanks AG and jaymfc I think you are pretty much dead on right.

Just thought I'd post one more update. Apparently I had actually been emailed by bodog prior to all this happening and missed the email (it ended up in my spam folder and I just missed it). They are cutting me a new check which they say shouldn't cause any issues and they say I should have it in a week or so.

I have to say I have been very impressed over the last 48 hours with how easy their customer support is to talk to and deal with. Assuming all is well with the second check this is still rather inconvenient (I didn't have much cash in the account it was deposited too and almost made a couple of debits that would have caused an overdraft..that's the scariest thing about this). But I can live with it. They are also covering the bank fee for the bounced check.

So... Bodog isn't completely clean in this but they appear to be making good which I can live with. I think jay is right.. wouldn't be an issue if this country wasn't so screwed up in so many ways.

bodog is the most trustworthy name in the business, i've been dealing with them for over 3 years and never had the first problem. i assure you these check issues are not bodogs fault and probly the sketch US companies they have to go through in order to get us our checks. they will make good on all problems and have the best customer service in the industry.

i would never play anywhere else!
(and no, i dont work for bodog lol)

Might be helpful if you try reading entire threads in the future, not just the OP and respond. This was NOT a matter of the bank not cashing it. The problem turned out to be that the check bounced (See Post #4).

ok this sounds like what i went through a year ago and im still trying to get awnsers. we recieved about 4 checks for $6600 in total. we cashed them and then a week later the bank froze the funds from bodog. They said that it was underinvestigation and that they knew they came from a gambling site. They never sent it back to bodog so they say and to this day they are still frozen in my account. the banks says its not in their hands anymore. Shouldn't bodog have to send me knew checks since i never got my funds safely and since the bank took the money? Shouldn't the6y be responsible since i never got my money? I mean the bank only found out because for a 2 week period bodog sent out different checks and they were all flagged. At least thats what bodog says. And when i ask bodog they say that the bank has the money and that they are out the 6600 and thats how the conversation ends. They basically say that they are not going to send me knew checks and I am shit out of luck. What should i do? and Should they give me knew checks? Thanks for all the help guys, Its greatly appreciated

Just write to the bank saying that you will take legal action if they don't unfreeze the money within 14 days of receiving your letter.

Who actually froze the account. If it was the State or Feds you will probably have more to worry about than just the money. You may live in a State where it is illegal to play online poker. May be the Feds looking at taxes. More than like it is the bank following the UIGEA. I don't know what remedy you have in any of the situations but I would suggest a lawyer. Please let us know what happens.

I am assuming you live in the U.S.
