Any one play live free poker? We have several leagues in my area that play live tables and no entry fee, prizes are various like tabs to the venue we are at or entries to real money tournaments. It is very close to on-line poker but in person lol!

I've played a few, haven't bothered in quite a while though. My patience for tournament poker, especially live tournament poker with terrible strucutres, is pretty short these days and live tournament structures typically don't come any worse than free bar league games. That said, occasionally they'll have a prize that's worth having a go at.

I feel the only way that this type of game can be played legitimitely is to have all the participants TRULY play to win. Usually money works for this. But if you can find several people who will actually play properly (which is rare), it can be done. Daniel Negreanu is from Toronto and sponsors Red Hot Poker Tour. It's for free and you get points for placing in the league. But even at the end of that, you can win a free buy-in into the WSOP.

Yes, but I find it frustrating. About 40 people, starts 25bb deep and slow like live always is, so blinds are up in less than an orbit, putting nearly everybody at M < 10. I know they're trying to keep tourneys short, but it becomes a game of limp in and hope you get lucky. Anything approaching normal raises ends up being a lot of your stack quickly. RF

re: Any one play live free poker? I am a Railbird and a member of several groups. I play the freerolls often where you can place high in it and get invited to play real money tournaments. Presently they are open to 10,000 players and if you finish in the top 750, you get an invite to play a money tournament and then on into a bigger game if you place in that one. Only big problem is tha with 10,000 playing, it could take several hours of playing and can get tiresome. The one good thing though is that you need to be careful at the beginning as you will be challenged by many to go all in as they want to build up their chips so that they can last longer. Be careful and don't get trapped. Usually within the hour, about half the field has lost out doing this and no longer have the chance to advance. They are fun, but just be aware of what I am saying.

once in a while i go out with my brother and play the bar leagues outside of philly. he is a regular and usually gets enough points for a free buyin down the borgata at the end of each season. only first place pays nightly, between $100 to $150 depending on the amount of players.

ha ha...this is pretty good and I must say that it was a real fun I guess as you will definitely find so many people who are getting such benefits of playing at some local bar, also, you will try in some gambling venues that do provide free poker with some bonus points so it will be better if you go there and play as you will get real fun and so many other stuffs to play.
