If $50 is your whole bankroll, then you should not play higher than $2 sngs, $1 MTTs and $0.01/0.02, because playing anything higher gives you a high risk of ruin due to the natural variance of the game, even if you are a winning player. If you want to play 0.25/0.50, you should have at the very least $1000 available (either deposited or available somewhere else in case you need to reload once you go busto) All this assumes you're a winning player. There's no bankroll big enough to prevent a looser from going busto. |

| I don't believe in BR management with such small bankrolls. playing $2 sng's is a joke, and no different than playing in $5 sng's which is the minimum you should be playing IMO. this bankroll is so small you are trying to jump start it. not spend 12 hours playing $2 sng's. There is no wrong way to play with your bankroll. That is why it is yours. Some people have more gamble than others, and some people are strictly #'s people. While I believe bankroll management is something every poker should understand I disagree it is the greatest skill. Even numerous pros have said if you actually want to make it in this game and continue to climb the ladder, you have to be willing to play out of your bankroll at times and take a risk. |

| Well i see you are getting alot of tips, hope they work :0,now on thing i would do.If you play sit and goes, try playing the onse with better paying odds.Like 9 players,3 places pay,,90 players 18 places pay, better chances, the 45 player ones are not to bad,7 places pay,,but I don't like them to much.if you play an 18 player one, only 4 places pay,and it is harder, where a 9 plyer on,only half ppl,and 3 places pay.So depends on how long you want to play, and how much of an increase, try doing just 9,90,180 player ones,,,or the low buting tourneys, you win good money,,if you like tourneys .I myself like sit and goes more, but do the odd tourney,,,tc,and gl,,,i also like a few ring games :0 but thats me .Hope this helped. |

I have small BR's on several sites and have NO, zero, interest in 'jump starting' it. Playing $5 SnG's you suggest as a 'minimum' you have 9 chances to cash enough to get your $50 back, expecting a profit above that (for that 'jump start'). More than likely, you will be re-loading another $50. Sure, if there is a 'special' game you want to play - do so by all means. I played the Stars Guinness World Record game, above my BR, just because I wanted to be a part of it. Haven't done it again since then. Easy for 'pros' to say a lot of things, but defining what they meant is something else. A $5 SnG with a $50 roll is not what they mean, imo. If you expect to make a +ROI on $50 in 9 SnG's, then you better be a really darn good player, or be very, very lucky. |

even darn good players often have streaks of 9 SnG's without cashing. No matter how good you are, you can only succeed with luck when playing above your BR. |

| you need to decide what your total br is (not just what you have online, unless that is indeed everything that you are willing to play with) then and only then can you decide what stakes are correct for your situation if you are willing to reload, i surely wouldnt practice the 50bi rule with only 50 dollars i would start with something like 4 tables of .5/.10 with auto rebuy on this way you stay with a full stack and have 1 bi behind if you have 5 or 6 hundred set aside for poker, but only 50 online, then this shouldnt be a problem |

| re: Any advice on building BR with 50$ start? poker tough thing this BRM what does money mean to you (is 50$ a lot or is 1000$ nothing?) are you depositing or strictly a freeroll winning player (til bankroll comes at least) Ive won and lost a fair bit on many sites, and have only deposited on jetset which has been gone for many years- so my money took me much time and gaming- so i hate to lose it all going for the gold and have a 0$ balance again. i usually do tournies (gareenteed and added money are great), small sit and gos, and the cheap ring games- but have played up to 2$blinds ( and usually lost more at higher stake tables) even last night i lost 25$ on my 100$ acct- a lot with proper BRM- but its back again, sometimes you get bad streaks or lucky, ya know do what works for you, as you can afford, and slowly build- or just keep moving up the buy in and win that million ( which is still my goal i may and should just deposit a few hundred and play the real games for real serious money cuz really a few bucks dont mean much and I realize the time Ive wasted on freerolls just to get a few bucks is retarted, but thats poker ps i have successfully cashed out about 1500$ a yr or two ago and probally have $200+ on all my various sites right now but wheres my million???lol |

| My Advice For Starting a BR with $50! First and foremost, don't think you will win every tournament you enter! Find out which game you feel most comfortable in- NL, PL, Holdem, razz, horse, etc. Set a limit to what you will call in each round of betting and for which kind of hand. Enter yourself into some single table or head to head tournies first, then move onto the larger ones. Keep in mind, it will be more realistic to set your goals towards the smaller tournies! play tight, play right! HOPE YOU HAVE FUN AND WINNNNNNNNNN...... |

| You can definately start with the .5/.10 NL , I read as a rule of thumb, always come to the table with at least 30x the blind in a cash game. Once you accumulated enough winnings of 30x the next level buy-in, then you can move up. Low limit sit-n-gos is another great choice. I recommend to play very patient in the Sit-n-go's, it should take you a long way. |

Another question , Turbo tourny vs. regular ? I play tight , so usually i manage to get to high places (like top 20 in 180 players tourny) but because I'm tight , I'm getting there short stack and the turbo blinds eat me... |
