another update
Well, last couple days have been pretty good for my learning....I made final table on a 4 dollar beginner tourney on Bodog, that is a MTT in which they pay out about twice the normal number of an MTT. I THINK I placed 7th that day...
Then YESTERDAY.....I played a 5 Dollar PL MTT. This one was interesting...Were 77 people starting. 9 places paid. We get down to 10th place, blinds were....200/400 I think. 2 people were right around a thousand chips. I get dealt pocket 7s. Saw the flop for the price of BB. Flop comes out and is 7 10 q rainbow. Player with 600 more chips than me, I have around 15k, bets pretty hard on the flop and turn...River comes around and he pushes ALL IN...I called he had 2 pair 10 Q. What I cannot figure out is this. The pot was around 20k when the river comes we each still had ABOUT 5k in our stack. That would have allowed both of us to see the money. I honestly thought that i had the nuts. I can't figure out why this guy went all in on the river with two pair when I was matching him bet for bet....He was truly upset that he ended up VERY short stacked after the hand and within a hand or 2 got bubbled out of the tourney. I placed 3rd in the tourney...made a couple stupid errors at the final table, but I am very encouraged by my play overall the last couple days. |

Don't worry about the other playersd feelings. Poker is about mistakes, trying to make as few as possible yourself and taking advantage of your opponenets mistakes. He obviously thought he had the nuts and made a big mistake to your benifit. That's how you win. Good job and keep it up.

yeah i understand what you're saying, but, had he just checked he'd have been at around 25k instead of 30k......while if he had lost he'd have still had 5k....On the ohter hand, of course had he had pocket Q, I'd have been the person bumming...LOL
With that said, the whole being married to a hand thing....I see that SOO much in these lower level games....not that I NEVER do that myself, I gotta say I love it when I'm on the winning hand when someone holds AK on me...LOL |

Well you better get used to that, because in the lower level games that will happen all the time. People are always hoping to get lucky on the river and hit it big |
