Another reason to not let others play ANYTHING for you I signed up for the 9:40 $500 FR at Bodog, but before it started, my Internet went out (40 year old construction, cable piped in after the fact, unreliable at times). I live in a condo & get along with all my neighbors so I went to my buddy's place with my laptop. Anyway, he & I start playing Halo 3 & we're owning up on people. The tourney starts & his wife lets me know. I told her to ignore it & that I'd just sit out since it was a FR and we were in a zone on Halo. She asks if she could play & I said knock yourself out, it's free I can't lose anything. By 10:30, we tire of halo & I figured I'd check on my cable. Sure enough, I'm live again. She had quit playing by then, but she tells me she won. Winning that tourney means playing until 2 or 3, so I figure she meant that she won an all-in hand. She says, "Yeah I won, I had A's I think, no Q's. Yeah Q's I went all in and won. Now I remember, it was Q8 BOTH BLACK!" I look at the screen and the tourney is on the first break, I'm on autofold because she stopped playing, but I have $1000 in chips. (I shudder to think what notes people have taken on "my" gameplay in the last hour). I grab the computer & go home not really feeling like grinding it out for another 3 hours for $1.75, so I push with middle pair & lose. No big loss, I wasn't feeling the poker spirit. As I go to close Bodog, I notice my balance was lower than I expected. I check my e-cash statement to find 4 rebuys. ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So was this a freeroll where you could rebuy for money? I'm confuzed. I've never seen something like that. And what was it that she ended up 'winning'? But if you hadn't lost the money, perhaps the table image you got could have helped you and gotten you some extra calls. Maybe I'm just an optimist :P

re: Another reason to not let others play ANYTHING for you poker Three times a day. At 4:00 A.M., 2:40 P.M. and 9:40 P.M. With the added benefit of earning "Poker Points" while you play. They give you approximately 1 point for every hour at the table. There's also one at 10:40 P.M. nightly for 30 points, and the field size is substantially smaller. They all have the same prize pool & pay 63 places, but the pts freeroll averages 700-800 entrants, vs. 4,000-5,000 for the other freerolls. That translates to 2 hrs to the money, as opposed to 4.5.

Simple, dont let other people play on your account. Id never imagine letting anyone apart from my close family playing on my account, and even then Id probably be watching them like a hawk ready to jump in if I think they might me more then some loose change.

re: Another reason to not let others play ANYTHING for you poker actually the silver lining here is that if anyone DID take notes on ur neighbor's wife's play, they'd underestimate u next time they face u in a game... then again, does anyone really take notes on bodog? LOLOL
