Angry players I busted a guy out in a sng the other day and he went absolutely spastic about it. The thing was it wasn't donk play i was in the blind and flopped a straight. He went on and on about how awful I was, and while I just assumed he was not that great, I checked his stats out - after he went on and on about how much better they were than mine, and he has a really good record, and is in the high eighties ability wise..(I'm about 69/70) I don't get why he spazzed out so badly, given he has a lot of experience, appears to do quite well at the game, and it wasn't like I sucked him out - I overbet a monstor hoping to represent a bluff and it worked. Any thoughts?

Sometimes it seems that it might not been you but the prior bad beats he took and you are just the unlucky one to hear it. I always try to say good game or if busted out good luck to rest that’s in. Sometimes just the acknowledgement will send them off quietly. We have seen it in all walks of life, some can handle losing better than others.

i guess i get pissed off at times when i shouldnt- too many bad beats 1 too many times- but that was not the case here...he let you, the big blind, see a free flop where you flop a str8, what could be better, you got him good (without a bad beat/donking) hope it payed well there sure are some babies out there too, no matter how good they are

re: Angry players poker It happens every other day. It was his fault for letting you see the flop. That was a nice bet on the flop, if he calls you're getting paid off because he either has a high pocket pair, or he hit on the flop. I still prefer to keep the chat box open.

The chat is a double -edge sword for me. I like to keep it on to see when others are tilting. On occassion you do meet some nice people in there as well. My problem is that I do get sucked into arguments and it does affect my game when some jerk is being abusive in the chat. So for the most part I just keep it turned off.

It could be a simple case of venting, although I don't believe the OP has confirmed that the flop was seen for free (just that he/she was in one of the blind positions). In any case, it's probably best to ignore his comments once he's out. Personally I've questioned others' play when they knock me out if I feel they did something stupid. But I know it sounds like sour grapes.

I guess the chat box can have its uses..seeing whos getting frustrated etc. I think I will turn it off in future because its all too easy to be effected by angry comments or getting sucked into arguements which can have an impact on your play.

I've been cussed out i more languages than I can count - playing in the culterally diverse area of Los Angeles at cash games has indeed proven interesting. It's always because I have recently shifted gears, or played my hand in a coy manner that my opponent didn't see coming. They thought their 2 pr was good when I overbet the pot with top set, so they shoved. Not my fault they were drawing to runners to quads on the flop... Sometimes strength means strength. And I'm still going to smile and stack up your chips while you cuss me out in your native language.
