Analysis of TheMaster888's 6-seater STT
I kind of rushed through this after work today, but I think I got everything in that I thought needed to be said. As usual, any critiques/corrections/opinions/criticism etc are welcome. Let me know if you disagree with me on anything.
I hope this helped you in some way. 2007/08/06 - 06:20:20 (ET) Table '57524705 1' 6-max Seat #1 is the button Seat 1: apna_man (1500 in chips) Seat 2: TheMaster888 (1500 in chips) Seat 3: zato75 (1500 in chips) Seat 4: Ghoulio (1500 in chips) Seat 5: blondass (1500 in chips) Seat 6: zzaakky (1500 in chips) TheMaster888: posts small blind 10 zato75: posts big blind 20 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to TheMaster888 [7c 3d] Ghoulio: folds blondass: raises 20 to 40 zzaakky: calls 40 apna_man has timed out apna_man: folds apna_man is sitting out TheMaster888: folds zato75: calls 20 *** FLOP *** [8c Ts 5d] apna_man has returned zato75: checks blondass: bets 60 zzaakky: calls 60 zato75: calls 60 *** TURN *** [8c Ts 5d] A♦ zato75: checks blondass: checks zzaakky: bets 300 zato75: folds blondass: calls 300 *** RIVER *** [8c Ts 5d Ad] 2♥ blondass: checks zzaakky: bets 1100 and is all-in blondass: calls 1100 and is all-in *** SHOW DOWN *** zzaakky: shows [Kc Js] (high card Ace) blondass: shows [As 7d] (a pair of Aces) blondass collected 3110 from pot *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 3110 | Rake 0 Board [8c Ts 5d Ad 2h] Seat 1: apna_man (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 2: TheMaster888 (small blind) folded before Flop Seat 3: zato75 (big blind) folded on the Turn Seat 4: Ghoulio folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 5: blondass showed [As 7d] and won (3110) with a pair of Aces Seat 6: zzaakky showed [Kc Js] and lost with high card Ace Hope you took notes! The only problem is that your opponents' first impression of you is that you stole from the button the first opportunity possible. We'll be doing a lot of stealing later on with very marginal hands, and we'll want to get as much respect as possible. Stealing early on will reduce our chances of that. The problem with playing this slow is that any decent player at your table (and there are usually a few at these stakes) is going to pin you as a slowplayer. ie He won't believe you when any of your bluffs that are played aggressively, since he's already seen you slowplay a made FH. We want to advertise a style that shows that we play our good hands straight-forwardly, and we fold our poor ones. We reeeeally need that respect later on for our steals. Then again, if there ever were a good spot to slowplay, it'd be on this board. *** TURN *** [9s 9c 3d] 2♥ Ghoulio: checks blondass: bets 40 TheMaster888: calls 40 Ghoulio: folds *** RIVER *** [9s 9c 3d 2h] 2♦ blondass: bets 100 TheMaster888: calls 100 Blegh (yes, I actually just made that sound). We don't want to get too involved with weak pairs like this. A value bet on the river here is kind of a toss-up. He might have been drawing/slowplaying a monster, in which case you obv don't want to bet, but he could also be trying to hold onto a weaker pair then yours in which case a value bet might draw in a few more chippies. We're disguising when we have big hands, which is great because we want to keep our opponents guessing. Like I said in the beginning, playing TAG early and LAG late is a much more effective style. You played with good aggression in the early stages, but for whatever reason started to limp and call instead of bet and raise as the game went on. Pick on the weak-tight blinds, and avoid confrontations with the other big stacks unless you have a very good reason to. Well-played in the early and late stages, but in the middle you were a little too passive. I hope this helped, man! Got it done earlier than I'd originally thought, too ![]() -ChuckTs |
