Advice re: upcoming WSOP Circuit in Indiana
I will be spending the week of April 1st thru 8th at Caesar's in Indiana (near Louisville), to participate in the WSOP Circuit Event.
http://www.harrahs.com/EventsDetail.... rcuit%20Event I plan on playing satellites and cash tourneys with an eye towards the $5000 NLHE Main Event. They will be having daily $300+40 and $175+25 tourneys as well as satellites and mega-satellites leading up to the Main Event. I'm hoping to have a bankroll of $6000 to $10,000 to devote to this event. I don't have a lot of live MTT tournament experience and would appreciate some tips from those of you who do. Poker tips are welcome but would also like some "If I knew then, what I know now" type of tips, and logistics types of tips. The vast majority of my experience is on-line. Any tips for me to remember as I transition to this live event? I'll be staying at the casino hotel. Are the breaks long enuf to run to my room? How early do I need to arrive at the start of a tourney? Eat before, during or after the tourney? Single table satellites, soft or tuff? Etc, etc, etc. Thanks in advance. |

I don't have live experience but when I do decide to play live I definitely will not spend so much on the entry fee to my first live event.
May I suggest before you venture to a live event there that you go to the local casino and try a low buy-in tourney a few times (before committing yourself in Indiana) just to get a feel for a live event. |

I've played about a 100, 1-table SNG's, a couple of times with a Double Shoot-Out format, and a handful of MTT's with 200 entrants or fewer. Never played a live tourney with more than $450 buy-in or more than 200 entrants, so that will be new. ps:Thanks to all for the replies so far |

You want to be as relaxed and fresh as you can when playing the tourney. Plus switching from cash game strategy to tournament strategy is going to hinder you more than help. Good luck though! |

Good luck to all of you that plan on playing. I don't have much live experience so I can't help too much with tips. I plan on using this year to gain some experience playing live and then head down to Tunica next year for the events down there.
