Ace rag
A little observation I noticed when I first started playing, but has carried on time and time again - when you get Ace rag (or Ace anything), Nine times out of Ten you're dealt the Ace first? Or is that just me?

It's simple psychology I think.
You get dealt an Ace first and get a little excited, and 'exciting' experiences are more likely to stick in the mind. Whereas you get dealt a 4 first, your cursor begins to hover over the fold button and you promptly forget you ever saw the hand. |

They forget all the times their aces won (because it was expected), but sure as heck remember when they lost(unexpected). So when they try and think about their experience playing online, all they can remember are the "unexpected" outcomes and thus online is rigged according to them. |

Freddie! I am so disappointed.
And here I thought you worked out all your amazing odds in your head, using only your fingers and toes to help you along.Last edited by juiceeQ : 21-05-2006 at 2:44 PM. |

![]() It's a program I wrote with the specific purpose of refuting claims like this one. It doesn't count odds for me, but instead parses hand histories and summarizes whatever it is I need summarizing. In this case, the order of the ace (since, frankly, it sucks badly to have to go through the hand histories manually). |
