Accidently joined limit holdem SNG

Like the thread said... I accidently joined a limit holdem SNG thinking it was NLH. This isn't the first time either... I ended up winning the thing heads up against a guy who also accidently joined.

Almost always when I join a limit SNG by accident I win the bloody thing. I know little about limit holdem strategy though... but perhaps I should look into it

Entry fee for a LHE game that you thought was NLHE when you registered: $10.00

Tournament fee for a LHE game that you thought was NLHE when you registered: $1.00

Total prize pool for a LHE game that you thought was NLHE when you registered: $100.00

Winning first place by beating another guy that accidentally registered thinking it was NLHE as well: $50.00

The fact first and second place were people that didn't even plan on playing LHE and beat out eight others that did: PRICELESS!

They are kinda cool when the blinds get high.
Everytime it happens, I won't even notice for a couple of hands and keep wondering why people are microreraising and won't just push all in. Until i'm dealt a playable hand and realize why.

And very unusual. I played these limit sng's for a long time. We would get these people regularly and loved it. About 3rd or 4th hand they would say " OMG is this limit??"
We would die laughing. They almost always played terrible because they were in a hurry to get out or had no clue how to play limit. Some would even post and fold cause they couldn't bear it. Lots of bad language.

One thing is certain. I never saw one of them place in the money lol.

I payed $11 to play... So I gave my best to get it back :P
I did read a LHE strategy guide a while back, so I'm not totally oblivious to limit holdem ;-)
And I only confessed to accidently joining when I was in the money.

Good for you - that is why you won. Most NL players wouldn't have your patience. After playing NL myself for almost a year I wouldn't like limit myself lol.

I really like to play HORSE to break up my routine, so have had to learn LHE...it is growing on me I must say. But I must admit there's not much worse than accidently finding your self in a large tourney.....limit.....takes a whole day, I swear.

Hm. Bumping my old thread.
Same thing happened. Accidently joined a 10-seat SNG Turbo LHE and won.
Maybe I should play LHE instead of NL. I'm having a 100% winrate for accidently joined LHE SNGs :P

I saw an $11 buy-in tournament, 96 entrants. Took over 4 hours......

360 entrants is 6 hours

God I would hate to see a limit tournament with 3k people.....

I remember I accidently joined a razz SNG on full tilt. I had no idea how to play...so I kept raising and reraising every hand I had.

And I won it. Razz Aggression.

Ive twice done this now and each time came out rather well

1st time on Full Tilt came 4th in 3hrs and the just last week on Pokerstars 4th again out of 540 runners and a 6 hour marathon.

So im not sure if it is good thing or not lol - nice for bank roll but bad for sleep lol

I did this once. Funny thing was 7 of the 10 players were there by accident. It was pretty comical. I tried to play but it was so freaking boring, I bailed on it a short way in. I asked the site to refund me fully expecting them not to but to my surprise, they did!

I joined an Omaha s&g once by accident and ended-up winning it too.
I remember that some times it was rather tough to figure out the best hand with the 2 out of 4 pocket cards.
I think it takes a lot more concentration than Hold'em.
